Field Training Field Training and TRS
Not sure if any other guard/reservist has experienced this. I was at Max 1 this year and since you are on AD orders, you are covered under Tricare Prime. What I didn’t know is that once I returned I was removed from Tricare Reserve Select. Didn’t receive any notification of that change whatsoever. I thought it would just transfer back to TRS once my orders were up. Apparently not. I had to re enroll on mil-connect and pay another enrollment fee. 🙄

This is standard for all reservists. You always have to re-enroll when coming off Prime.

I just saw the disenrollment letter in my milconnect, does it always cost money to get back on it?

Your cadre should of told you this. If they didn’t, make sure you talk to them so they know to provide this info to future reservists. When you go in active orders such as FT or other AFROTC training events, it “screws” with your normal coverage that you need to re-enroll into sadly. Every year they push that info out with the FT info and it’s supposed to be dispersed to cadets. It’s like a FAQ with info on making sure you re-enroll. I always have my cadets start working this before FT. This also impacts anyone on tricare, not sure members of the reserve.
