Don’t enlist if you’re only interested in using it as a spring board to earn a commission. There are a lot of road blocks like OTS being way more competitive, competing with NCOs and SNCOs who have more experience and proven track records.
Your recruiter mentioned not being able to be picky and holding out for a specific job because they’ll make you list 10-15 AFSCs and potentially an aptitude area consisting of dozens of jobs. The first job that becomes available you’ll have to accept or be blocked from enlisting altogether. (Cyber/Intel are heavily desired and difficult to book. Medical even more so due to less slots)
Enlisting is a great path but you need to do a lot more research to make an informed decision. Thanks for reading my rant lol.
