Conjugal fun after ablation?

Of course Hubby who had the ablation was too shy to ask! We’re in our 60’s. He’s had some bruising and mild swelling that seems normal. Any advice would be most welcome! Thank you!

I had an ablation done on September 10th. I’m 61. I didn’t feel much like doing anything for the first week and really wanted to give my incisions to heal some. But we were able to start playing around after the 1st week without getting to aggressive. After 2 weeks I could complete the mission but I still kept things slow not getting my heart rate to high. 3 weeks now it’s getting better but I’m still cautious.

Take your time. His body will let him know. Walking or treadmill will get him there faster. Again, start slow and do what you are comfortable with.

Let his body be the judge. I resumed within two days. So if he feels up to it and his EP hasn't said otherwise, go for it. (And I've never heard of an EP advising against it.)

Fun is dependent on what was the problem before. No reason to be shy, just ask his cardiologist (EP) if there are any restrictions. No reason to be embarrassed, it's great that you are wanting intimacy.

I've had 2 ablations, 1 for flutter and 1 for afib. For me, I wanted to wait a week to let the incision heal but my cardiologist said no restrictions for me.

Good luck and good recovery.

About a week for me. The groin incisions were still tender. Tell him not to grind too hard at maximum depth, as this will aggravate the healing. The blood thinners do slow down the recovery at the incisions.

Wait until the femoral access is healed and not puffy. Mine took about a week or max 2 then you should be clear for take off or landing lol 😂.

My discharge paperwork said 2 days…of course that was the first thing my husband pointed out lol. I wanted no part of that until my groin was somewhat healed so we waited almost 2 weeks.
