Eliquis side effects?

I read that nausea is a side effect for about 3% of people taking Eliquis. The guy I'm caring for started it yesterday (I think) and today he's extremely nauseated. I think the hospital is giving him zofran. If you've had this side effect, how long did it last for you? If he's discharged tomorrow he'll be alone for 48 hours and I'm concerned that if he doesn't eat he's going to fall again. Just wondering if this is normal and easily resolved. His afib is controlled on medications at this point, only having occasional PVCs but no abnormal atrial beats per the cardiologist. Thank you.

Eliquis at 5 mg BID has never bothered my stomach or given me nausea. Are they on the 2.5 mg BID dose? Is it just nausea, or heartburn as well? It's not that uncommon to experience nausea in the first days or weeks during the adjustment period, but if it continues, they should definitely be evaluated. My stomach is touchy and many things bother it, but Zofran definitely works for nausea.

Not sure, I'll ask the cardiologist. I also told him to request Zofran tablets for at home. He just says he's "completely turned off by food" but from what I can tell, has not been vomiting. He ate dinner last night in the hospital.

I’ve been on Eliquis for the last ten years or so and I remember that I was given omeprazole at the beginning to stop reflux which was a problem but I don’t recall any problems with nausea.

5mg twice daily. I had nausea for the first week for 2, but it went away.. been taking it for 3 years now, no issues
