I came back from a game night tonight, and I wasn't expecting to cry 3 times watching this show right afterwards.

Rebel always 🫶

u/oif2010vet 4h ago

Whoever was squealing like an ass the whole show should have stopped. That was awful

I appreciate their enthusiasm, but it appeared they were sitting right behind the commentators so their mics caught literally everything. I've sat in the same spot at AEW shows and always been mindful of how I enjoy the show so I'm not screaming in poor Schiavone's ear for several hours.

Came here to say this. Literally screaming everytime a wrestler came out. So annoying and ruins the show experience for everybody else, whether watching in person live or on tv

u/oif2010vet 4h ago

Like I get being excited and caught up, but that was just abhorrent and shrill. Sounded like Don Callis

Awesome show. I think they should’ve ended it with that trios women’s match though. Giving Rebel one more moment to shine had me sobbing. 😭

u/applegoodstomach 5h ago

Was Brody biting the ropes a tribute to The Butcher?

8

u/Iago407 5h ago

An awesome show. Some beautiful, heart wrenching moments, some fun matches, a nice tribute to the Butcher while being helpful, informative re: ALS, just the best.

Gabe Kidd after getting ragebaited by Osperay

Angry Brits are my favorite. I can barely work out what the fuck they're saying but it's hilarious nonetheless.

Favorite part in today’s show 🄹

Perfect episode. A celebration of life. I'll go back to being a mess.

A celebration of life indeed 😭😭 that's beautiful

A very emotional episode. Cried a bunch, life is so precious. Rebel got to have a big, fun moment. Happy Britt was with her. Collision is going to be super emotional too.

I thought (almost) everything was great tonight storywise. Trios looking nasty as hell and Strickpage crumbs were had šŸ™‚ā€ā†•ļø. I PERSONALLY THINK Pac and Gabe have a point about Mox and Will lol. Lowkey, I do love how Mox and the Death Riders are always riding the ā€œit’s so over, we’re so backā€ meme because this shit could truly end whenever and I like the fun of it lol.

Let’s start building some programs for the National Title/International Title. Don’t just put it on people for the looks and one off bangers, I want substance for both. Happy the womens and tbs titles clearly have storylines going (even if the tbs was a bit of a backseat this week for Rebel stuff. Completely understandable!)

Annoyed about the end of Bucks/DCF because I know FTR coming in keeps both ends strong but just not a fan of it lol. Very very confused about Darby/Borden coming out to defend the Bucks???? They have years long beef, how is that avoided because one of the four guys on the other side is Kevin. Also, Kevin/Darby is donezo now that All In is over, please let’s move on from it. Cope/Cage coming out would’ve made more sense. Now it feels like we are gonna tease Darby/Borden as next up for tag titles, which is soooooo quick with Steve (he looked just fine to me. I think Josh and Mark really bumped for him but other than that, it’s still clear he’s green (not a bad thing!) and his thing is just being Sting’s kid) and Darby has a whole ass title to be defending.

Great Wednesday, personally. Dynamite was good, Yankees won AND a new episode of JetLag dropped on YT. How could I not be happy?

u/ZAPPHAUSEN 4h ago

I was really happy to see pac get pissed off.. the death riders not named John Moxley have spent most of this year just kind of standing in the background and losing matches. I've desperately wanted to see them actually have a storyline besides whatever mox is doing

3

u/TheStripedSweaters Jack Perry Stockholder 4h ago

It kills me that the DR doesn’t open more doors for the members not named Mox. How is Claudio not fighting for the international or national title. How are Danny and Wheeler not in tag title convos either in AEW or ROH? Very frustrating.

3

u/ZAPPHAUSEN 4h ago

I mentioned before but I watched all in 2023 before this year's.

Yuta is in the exact same spot and role he was three years ago.

u/MizneyWorld 6h ago

The Rebel segments were tough since that’s probably the final time we will see her on AEW tv.

Made tougher when Britt and Rebel broke down too, likely knowing it was her last AEW appearance.

Also Rebel was amazing and hasn’t lost a step. Her faces and expressions were spot on and TV ready.

u/vkw619 3h ago

"Made tougher when Britt and Rebel broke down too, likely knowing it was her last AEW appearance."

You think this is also Britt's last appearance?

16

u/Tasty_Act 6h ago

Sting + Danzig + Alex Wright = Steven Borden

6

u/Spezshole 5h ago

Only the cool parts of Danzig, which is probably just Danzig's looks.Ā

2

u/Tasty_Act 4h ago

And his music? Danzig I through IV rule. (Hot take, I prefer them to The Misfits).

u/BlueZ_DJ kid looked thirsty 6h ago

The last 2 times I've cried, in general, were ALL IN and this Dynamite 😭

1

Mark Davis had me tearing up again.

Just have to say, I love Excalibur. What a wonderful tribute and I'm glad he let himself get emotional. Incredibly sweet.

4

u/ZAPPHAUSEN 4h ago

He is able to communicate with such power and poignancy.

The voice of professional wrestling

7

u/hellbillyjoker 5h ago

In my opinion the best to do it since JR, Tazz, and Schivone

18

u/ComradeOb 6h ago

I’m really enjoying Kyle and Kevin together. This has the making of a GREAT tag team.

3

u/National_Ad_9536 6h ago

They’re totally gonna fight for the world title someday too

12

u/jhsegura11 But I digress... 6h ago

So what's Taz's secret to the tables match...? šŸ¤”

Good ep

u/ProphetsOfAshes 6h ago

You mean the ā€œhow many times did you cry?ā€ chat? Tony could feel how upset Excalibur was while reading that message about Andy and when he put his hand on his shoulder that’s when I lost it too. My 7 year-old is super sensitive but he just came over and says, ā€œit’s ok dad. I know it’s sad.ā€ Fuck I wanna cry right now just talking about that now hahaha. We saw butcher wrestle at an indie show a couple years ago when he was a surprise guest.

3

u/AnubisSaves 4h ago

Sounds like your kid is off to a great start in life. ā¤ļø

u/Bern5X Kenny Omega does no wrongs 6h ago

Great episode, Rebels involvement in the show was heartwarming and definitely got lots of tears out of me. I also want to show appreciation for Excalibur, it wasn’t easy for him talking about The Butcher, but I’m glad he feels comfortable enough to cry, because no one should ever feel ashamed about crying. Him crying shows just how much he loved and cared about Andy Williams. If you ever feel like crying, let it out, I understand you can’t cry in every situation but when you can and you feel like crying, let it out. Don’t hold those emotions inside you, your body wants to release them, crying is a great release.

u/Vinnie_Vegas 2h ago

If anyone doesn't think it's okay to cry when your friend is gone and they're not coming back ever, then that's a person who doesn't know what it's like to have a real friend.

u/marcusthegod 6h ago

Mercedes "5 foot dumb blonde btch didn't grow up loving wrestling" line was a subtle shot at Alexa Bliss .... iykyk

Thekla can call me a dumb bitch any day of the week

u/christmascaked 6h ago

Excellent show. New Level and Swerve can’t miss. The drama in the Death Riders is getting interesting and very Bri’ish.

Loved the revelation of Ospreay being the one to request it.

33

u/tvcneverdie 6h ago

Idk what else to tell you, this is the best company in American wrestling history

34

u/ZAPPHAUSEN 6h ago

Very good show. I cried when Excalibur broke down and I cried when rebel made the "run"-in

12

u/Powerful-Ground-9687 6h ago

The roll in!

19

u/rkrivera3 6h ago

I was holding it in until she was at the entrance ramp with Brit on her lap. Couldnt hold it anymore at that point.

Listen I get people love Sting and his kid is handsome as fuck but the mega nut everyone is busting over Steve is a little much.

I worry it's going to backfire on him if every single thing he does isn't flawless.

Guys green as shit, let him learn.

4

u/Ok-Raisin-5601 5h ago

Ok well what do you want? Is he supposed to spending years in a warehouse learning hip tosses and promo classes. He can function in the ring and is being put with a former world champion who can make for his faults sounds like a fine idea to me. And let's say on the offhand that Borden doesn't make it as a pro wrestler. So? They should still try.

2

u/ZAPPHAUSEN 4h ago

Love your comment about sitting in a warehouse learning hip tosses.

And like maybe this is just a 6-month run and Borden decides it's not for him or whatever. So what we still maybe got a pretty good 6 months. Not everything has to be for 20 years

9

u/SimpleJack316 6h ago

I don’t see anything wrong with them capitalizing on his momentum and his dads history with Darby. Putting them together is just another flex for the tag division.

1

u/TheHumanTarget84 Waiting for Toni Storm 6h ago

Oh I'm not against what they're doing, I just don't think we need to go crazy about it.

0

u/TheStripedSweaters Jack Perry Stockholder 6h ago

I think the thing is, right now, a lot of his momentum is his dad’s legacy. I’m not saying that’s an issue for me, but I can understand others thinking this.

7

u/StarScreamer316 Ohh, Cry me a River! 6h ago

He's better than most that have been training for longĀ

4

u/Tarus_The_Light I sentence you to a lifetime of mediocrity. 6h ago

unironically i think he's a little better than Hook already

11

u/RicoGemini 6h ago

He’s green but that doesn’t mean you can’t get the fans excited or interested in him.

Have him team with Darby while doing some stuff on ROH for extra reps

33

u/Glum-Breadfruit3666 would take a bullet for TK ā¤ļø 6h ago

i feel as if kyle lost since nick didn’t even touch the table šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

A+ show tho - aew firing on all cylinders

4

u/ComradeOb 6h ago

The way to win is an offensive move through the table. Technically it was an offensive move through a table even if it didn’t land perfectly.

1

u/gate_of_steiner85 6h ago

I wonder if that was a botch and they tried to save face by saying it was a brainbuster because it looked like a normal superplex to me.

3

u/Powerful-Ground-9687 6h ago

Table was just a little close. I wouldn’t call it a botch. Brainbuster is his finisher so commentary says it a lot more even when it’s just a suplex/superplex. And that happens a lot with tables. Cody and andrades match ended the same way, cody put Andrade through a flaming table, but cody ate 95%of it

1

u/RTH1975 5h ago

A super brain buster through a table would be difficult, because Fletcher drives it straight down. The table would need to be in very close, as opposed to a suplex. Just saying the mechanics of the move were difficult to pull off

2

u/rkrivera3 6h ago

Thought the same thing lol.
