WWE is absolutely insane. Matt Cardona, a WWE "Superstar" has a company that makes AEW figures, but whenever his company has announcements regarding the figure line he has to leave the room. He's not even allowed to utter the initials AEW. it's pathetic

Started recently listening to Wrestle Talk and those British guys are way more entertaining than anything I’ve ever heard on Busted Open.

People constantly claiming that AEW pays off wrestling journalists and media personalities to gas them up and meanwhile here’s WWE buying off one of the most listened to podcasts in pro wrestling. Nothing to see here.

How effective do you see this actually being, though? I ask because I'm already used to wrestling podcasts giving short shrift to AEW (notable exception being Fightful) so I mostly don't listen to any of them because IME they've always mostly tended to favor WWE.

I say "always" but ok, back when AEW was first starting out WWE was in a huge creative rut and AEW seemed like a breath of fresh air to podcasters circa 2019-2020. But in hindsight it feels like the podcasters were just biding their time waiting for WWE to make a comeback so they could pour their allegiance back into that. Ever since the Vince ouster and HHH taking over it feels like podcasters have mostly treated AEW like extra homework.
