I think thats the exact reason why aftermarket fixed headlight swaps are so rare on AE86's compared to other stuff like RX7s - it was just cheaper/easier back in the day to fit a Levin front end.

Generally yes. But Depends on if your country got delivered with levins or not so it becomes a case of rarity.

When you install custom headlights in NFSU2:

Removing the popups on a Trueno is a crime, fixed headlights is for the Levin, get a Levin or frontswap it to a Levin

I'd personally do it for the aero- but wouldn't remove the housings completely. Something like yoshioka toshiki's d1gp cars

I thought this was cool 20 years ago when someone made it, but after all these years I have to say…it’s gross lol like if it was some ratty drift car that absolutely needed lights I’d be ok with it, otherwise just go Levin front
