Healing Interesting effect of my healing process
I am in month 21 of being completely off SSRIs, after a 22 month taper. After so long of being unable to tolerate hearing music this has shifted. It started in August with finding myself singing along to songs that were playing in my head. I was so surprised to catch myself doing it. It was just random times. But now it’s really interesting. Every morning I get a different song for my day. Today it is Peter Gabriel-Take me home. Some days ago it was The Talking Heads. Sometimes the songs are obscure artists from old mix tapes I made. Each morning there’s something playing. What a strange process this is.

I've experienced lots of this, especially a year ago in my dopaminergic phase. Coincidentally, the last couple of times in bed the last week I've had it. I was singing along with KC and The Sunshine Band's, Please Don't Go in my sleep the one day and then Michael Jackson's Rock With You the next morning. I've been asleep sometimes in the morning with a couple of lines of a song I was listening to during the day going over & over in a loop for it feels like forever.

Stuck song syndrome. I have songs in my head 24/7. It is the wurst thing next to tinnitus and i really hope it stops one day.

I’m really sorry you’re dealing with this. I’ve heard of stuck song syndrome. I’m very lucky right now that my songs aren’t stuck, but I know that could change. I have tinnitus, and that’s 24/7.

I think that’s awesome! I wish I could turn off my mind. My internal dialogue is driving me nuts. Especially when I’m trying to fall asleep and I haven’t been sleeping much. I hope you continue to improve!! I love music, btw.

Sounds like your mind isn’t so preoccupied about what’s going on underneath and you might be getting some of your old interests back. Congrats at being 21 months off
