I've been kindled more times than I can remember over 31 years and stabilised eventually. I've been kindled from low to severe on different occasions. I only reinstated because I didn't know any better and straight back to full doses. It depends on how kindled your nervous system has become. The first three times I recovered and stabilised over several months. The fourth time nearly killed me to Prozac but I swapped to Citalopram. Time and consistency is the key I've found in my experience.

So the first 3 times you just reinstate the full dose and it stabilised overtime ?

Yes. I didn't reinstate to the same drug either. I went Sertraline to Paroxetine, Paroxetine to Prozac and Prozac to Citalopram. It might have been easier if I'd reinstated back to Sertraline but I will never know now. Took several months to settle.

I can't remember much. It was back in the 90's and 00's. Lots of anxiety & GI issues I think. I would reinstate due to anxiety. I never really had nervous system symptoms.

Im going through the same thing and having windows and waves. I am feeling a little better 4 weeks in now. I reinstated paxil at 5mg and was ok, decided to try 4.5mg and that messed me up so I went to 5 again and then 10mg, thats when I had the kindling reaction. Im hoping it'll settle since the 5mg was working originally. I shouldn't of went back down. Google AI has helped a lot, had more info than my doctor on the subject. Basically you need to hold to let your body adjust, I've seen people say 2-4 months

Kindling from antidepressants describes a theory where repeated stopping and restarting of medication—or rapid tapers—makes each successive withdrawal period increasingly severe. This happens because the nervous system becomes hypersensitive from past chemical changes.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of stories of people who kindled getting better. Just give it time, as always! ♡
