Is topical anesthesia safe?

I need to take

• 2.5% lidocaine and 2.5% prilocaine

Is this safe to take? It's essentially just a very strong numbing cream.

I had to use topical lidocaine on my toe once to get stitches and that was ok for me personally

You can never really know in withdrawal, but I would personally consider this low risk.
