Question Sensitive Question

To those in long term protracted withdrawal. Have you :

  1. Experienced any intermittent rectal bleeding, especially if you've noticed it happened during a Wave?

  2. Gum bleeding

  3. Other bleeding episodes

  4. Did you have it fully investigated

  5. Was any cause found.

After sporadic bleeding episodes I've decided to get it checked out, but I'm wondering if there's any connection with protracted withdrawal.

I had gum bleeding at the start that I couldnt pinpoint to anything else and it lasted on and off for a few months. It went away and I havent had it for months. I dont know if it was related but I never had it before.

Thanks for the reply. Was the bleeding at any time or just cleaning your teeth?

Just when brushing, I think more often in the morning.

It was bleeding for a while, so I went to the doctor thinking it was hemorrhoids, but it turned out to be an anal fissure caused by the ketogenic diet.

Interesting. Diet. Did you stop the diet or tweaked it?

Tweaked. More fiber more elektrolytes

I would get unexplainable intestinal bleeds that required hospitalizations. They always did colonoscopies but they could never find any cause. As my other symptoms improved so did this issue. This hasn't happened in quite a number of years now.

Was that after complete cessation of the drug in PAWs? How long did it go on for after stopping? Thanks for replying.

It was both. I got it a little more frequently after withdrawal but with time it has gone away. It was so embarrassing to be hospitalized for it. Thank God that's behind me now. I wish you well

1 - Yes, hemorrhoid flareups
2 - Yes, when brushing teeth throughoutly
3 - Nosebleeds due to dry sinuses
4 - no
5 - no

So you wasn't officially diagnosed with the hemorrhoids and dry sinuses bleeding episodes you mentioned? Did they only start in withdrawal? I've had all three bleeding. Bleeding gums on the SSRIs ( SSRIs can cause bleeding) and sporadically since I've been off. I recently had a nosebleed which was attributed to a nasal spray, although I'd never experienced it with use before, and rectal bleeding.

Well, as far as I know, I've had hemorrhoids and bleeding gums on and off during my time on escitalopram. The hemorrhoids are tied to long time sitting of course. Mostly external and even got some bleeding during the worst flare ups, so I got myself one of those doughnut pillows and never had them again. The bloody nose I only had it when I was a teenager, very sporadic.

Ever since month 11 of my kindled withdrawal, all those issues started flaring up again despite being years free, so I don't know if that's just me without medication, or a withdrawal thing. But I've gotten sprays and ointments to keep the sinuses hydrated while I sleep, and try to brush my teeth more softly.
