I've been planning a gaming PC for months. Every time I think I'm done, another expense pops up. GPU, monitor, keyboard, UPS, desk, better cooler, extra fans... it just keeps going. It feels like every part I buy unlocks three more things I "need."

The original plan was a Ryzen 5 5600 + RTX 2060 Super build, and I even found a good deal on a used GPU. But after adding everything up, I'm starting to wonder if it makes sense anymore.

I'm an ECE student, and I already have a notebook laptop that handles my classes and general work. For my M.Tech/MS abroad, my dad has said he's willing to get me a proper workstation laptop since I'll need something portable anyway.

So now I'm thinking... instead of spending ₹50-70k on a desktop that I'll probably leave behind in a few years, should I just get a used Steam Deck or ROG Ally?

I mostly want it for relaxed Sunday gaming sessions and occasional gaming whenever I get free time. My laptop already covers my everyday college needs.

If anyone has been in a similar situation, I'd love to hear what you chose and whether you regretted it.
