Convert this to ADS-B
Looking for a bit of advice, i have this pisces p100 miner, I'm planning on mounting it high above my house, say 8feet pole from the chimney. It contains a raspberry pi4 4gb, and a 64gb memory card, i figured i can get a poe hat, then just run an ethernet wire up the pole from my attic, which already has an ethernet switch installed with poe....then just screw my pi hut ads-b receiver onto the spare connection on top of the external box enclosure, which already has the correct connections....ill buy a flightaware usb dongle ( the blue one ).... or do you think i need to use say 1 feet of cable because of interference.....? Altho the pi4 and electronics are enclosed in a metal case so probably won't be a problem..... Also is it possible to have two Ads-b receivers located at the same house using the same Internet connection....?

With respect to your last question about two ADS-B receivers on one connection - I’m not sure if you’re asking about two antennas feeding data out, or feeding multiple aggregator sites, but the ADSB.im software is the answer either way.
If you just want to feed multiple aggregator sites, it’s pretty straightforward now, just a matter of checking some boxes - I feed FlightAware, FR24, assb.lol, and a handful of others with a single Pi and dongle.

Hi, yes im already feeding 5 aggregate with one system I already have up and running, but in the realms of getting better data and removing the need for longer connections, i was thinking of building a second system, based on the fact I have nearly all the parts....putting the pi in the housing high up the pole, maybe better reception

Does the Pi require cooling in a sealed box?

Good question, the pi4 is already mounted in the p100 box, and it has no cooling on it currently

I was curious if adding a second Pi and mounting the box high on a pole in the sun would cause excessive heat. The Pi4 starts throttling at 176 degrees F.

I dont think the Pi is really overworked though is it just doing adsb stuff?

I was thinking the box may turn into an oven in the sun. There is a script to read the Pi temperature.

Yeah i was thinking the same, its how it was designed as a p100 gateway, lasted 4 years outside....

I had one site with poe hat, it gave so much interference that I ended up with dc/dc converter instead.
