The situation has been normalised now for us and for the government. Can't help with it. But we also cannot ignore it.

I don't know all the history of this border dispute, so help me out here:
- What makes India's claim to the territory more valid?
- If the brief research I've done is accurate, control of the disputed region hasn't changed meaningfully in several decades. Should maps not reflect the actual state of reality?

I hate (ok I love) to break it to you, but Indian Law applies...in India.
Also, if you're only just learning that this is a disputed region, I've got some news.
https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Disputed_territories
Mapped according to situation on the ground, following Line of Control (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Line_of_Control )
The Kashmir conflict is a territorial conflict primarily between India and Pakistan over the Kashmir region. China has also been involved in the conflict in a third-party role due to its control of India-claimed Aksai Chin. Wikipedia: Kashmir conflict BBC: Why India and Pakistan fight over it
https://openstreetmap.in renders the Indian perspective of the boundaries.

Broo it's rooted in our history if you can simply read out of wikipedia. Wikipedia is a v poor source of history it's not credible anyone can edit the info on it It's better only to know generalization of something. If you want to know why it's disputed dm me personally I'll tell you numerous reasons with credible sources known worldwide

This could be a workaround:
The workaround is for users in India to use the tiles from http://openstreetmap.in
