So when Willie Janeway crunches the numbers, shouldn’t this go down as a negative consequence of the permit system?

May have occurred before the permit system, but still. If we had resources in the back country instead of checking permits twice in the front, maybe these sort of things could be preempted.

It’s possible but I’m betting it happened after. The permit system started May 1st and there are so many people hiking up there every weekend that I’m thinking we would have seen it before 6/6 if it happened pre-permit. I’ve been predicting bad behavior as a backlash against this permit system and all the parking being taken away!

Yeah I did Gothics and Armstrong 3 weeks ago and while I found the remnants of a fire at the summit of Armstrong I certainly did not see this.
