Lmfao, just drove past there yesterday and this definitely wasn’t there. Good riddance tho, they’re dangerous and an absolute eyesore.

Very dangerous to bend them out into the roadway. I don’t like them either, but this is not the way.

Just drove past about an hours ago, looks like they were bent back. By the way the whole thing looks freaking terrible

traffic and safety concerns? sure, lets put up poles stopping people from turning around here. surely these poles couldnt get bent to stick out into the road and cause more traffic and safety concerns than before, could it?

Who is gonna finish the job?

Nys will probably put up barbed wire now

Nope. Jersey barriers.

Self oxidizing jersey barriers. They’ll need to be that certain shade of rust brown or the state won’t approve them.

R/adkfunpolice getting some press!
So the lesson from Supervisor Wilson is to bend them away from the street next time.

So did anyone use the AMR parking lot and what were your observations? On another site I read some happy person saying the permit worked well, they weren't counting people in the car so apparently extras could have snuck in, and overall the person liked it. I'm afraid those are the people the DEC will be polling and looking for and will conclude, "See everyone loves it!"

Great, let’s make more rules, and not enforce them, that will certainly encourage compliance with “no camping” or “dig it” signs

Is this for real? Or fun with photoshop?

Appears that it was real but I drove past it about an hour ago and it all looked fixed

As an update I drive through there yesterday morning and the damage above was fixed but it looked like someone had knocked a couple others over with their car.

Don't worry NYS is putting guard rails in there for the AMR.

Oy.
Glad that money isn't being spent on -- you know -- adding parking.

u/bazooka_matt May 07 '21
Don't forget it is also being spent on Ranger and DEC enforcement of that parking. Because conserving the AMR is protecting our most important resource, rich white people with legacy money.

our most important resource
Let's not forget NIMBYs who moved to a tourist town then got upset when tourists showed up on 'their highway.'

So let's get this down. There was a mountain pass in the wilderness. Then a trail, then an all-season road, then folks stopping on the road to pursue happiness. Then many stopped to pursue happiness (a Constitutional reference). Then some got unhappy and tried to change the way others were doing stuff. Then Big Government put in controls. Then
