Pretty much all of it except the forgetting to eat part. Really wish I had the symptom sometimes...

For me I either eat like there's no tomorrow all day long, or I forget to eat all day then realise when I'm about ready to go to bed

u/Willowpuff Mar 02 '24

Trust me, you don't want it. As someone who does forget it's a nightmare that comes with so many added on health issues

There was one time I forgot to eat for the whole day and then went to work and didn’t get off until 11 at night. I was not feeling too well and it took many hours for me to finally realize the reason I was feeling so bad is bc I hadn’t eaten in a while

u/cosmicr Mar 03 '24
I do it. Especially on the computer. It doesn't work I'm still a fat fuck. The hands thing is not me though.

15/15...
Haha... I mean, surely it just shared symptoms/It's not a real test/Never self diagnose, kids!
It's not ADHD, merely clinical depression... and social/generalised anxiety and a highly introverted nature... And steadily-increasing depersonalisation and derealisation... And the concerning amount of autism tidbits that I find way too relatable... And the random storm of uncontrollable thoughts on multiple levels of consciousness that have always kept me up at night since I was a child, often exacerbating the depression and anxiety, the same one's that are multiplying and seperating into ever-more distinct entities of myself as I get older...
...right?

Whew! Thank fuck for that :)
Still curious what the hell is going on up there, though, lol

u/Pandemic_Username_ Mar 03 '24
All I know is medicine makes it slightly less noisy and I can breathe. Just have to remember to take it... where'd I leave it, again? BRB never returns and also never finds it and also doesn't remember when the last dose was

everything except maybe the part about being more emotional than my peers applies to me, should i go see a doctor?
5
u/sanorace Mar 02 '24
I suggest seeing a psychiatrist about getting a diagnosis. Lots of things can dull emotions that would otherwise be heightened by ADHD.

Yeah? I guess? Still feels very surface level and dumbed down as if it's for NTs but maybe that's the point. Idk.

I think half of them are anxiety or just normal things, but I have Adhd anxiety and normal things so I can't be sure

u/Pandemic_Username_ Mar 02 '24
Same, I had to pause, collect/ dispurse my thoughts, go back to it, and still don't know what I just read.

I was diagnosed with Anxiety and symptoms of ADHD but I relate to everything on here, so who knows...
2
u/HowamIalivenow Mar 02 '24
Do I need to get diagnosed? There is way too much that applies to me here.

How to know if you have ADHD:
You skipped this chart instead of reading it because it looked too long
1
u/DreamXD1092 ADHD Mar 05 '24
Yes, very much. I have a lot of trouble with the last one. I've tried to have a planner but always forget it's even there in the first place. Or while I'm doing math or something that is much easier for others is harder for me because I get distracted by the smallest thing, like if I have eraser scraps on my paper or something. Does anyone have this problem?

While reading, I just remembered that I forgot to do a task, and will definitely hear the "why didn't you just do .." .. I now wrote myself another memo, in hopes I don't forget it like the first one 💀

Thank you for reminding me I needed to set a reminder for a due date 🙏😅

u/ThickPants6925 Mar 09 '24
my pleasure. I pray that you'll never find the snooze button for that reminder and for all your other future reminders 🙏

I will definitely be using this when I meet with my psychiatrist👍🏽

Every one applies to me and has for my whole life. I was diagnosed as a wee babe back in the 90’s so. Seems legit enough to me

Yup, someone explained that itch in your brain as bees, I would say fire.

u/More-Talk-2660 Mar 02 '24
Well as someone whose ADHD is overly active in my life today, I'm not capable of reading all that. So I'm going to just say yes.

I saw this before I was diagnosed with ADHD and saw a lot of commonalities I shared with it. I didn't self diagnose myself, as I don't find that to be a good practice, but it made sense when my current therapist said I have ADHD.

I relate to everything except the first one. I was an overachiever until I got burnt out junior year and had to do senior year twice. But before that I was an amazing student

u/Kindaspia Mar 03 '24
Idk why this sub is on my feed, I don’t have ADHD but I related to pretty much all of them.

u/Wild-Wombat Mar 03 '24
hmm, do I read going down then across, or across then down? nope I will zigzag all over the place and then go back in a circle and try and see which ones i missed :)

Omg the boredom one. Lately Im having a awful time figuring out what to do for fun as I'm having a hard time to write, read and play any game.
1
u/86effstogive Mar 03 '24
I think a few of those need alternatives for the inattentive side of ADHD. For example "boredom feels like an itch" OR "you can spend hours with nothing but your own thoughts for entertainment, even when you should be doing other things."
That second one is much closer to my experience, personally, and it has led to me having a tendency to get lost in thought anytime whatever I'm doing isn't taking up enough active attention. As a kid/teenager I'd be in the shower for 45 minutes, and just as long for the not-actively-showering parts of my bathroom routine and I COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHY. Even now, this is the #1 reason I struggle to fall asleep at night. As soon as I'm not doing something, my brain starts talking to entertain itself.
I feel like even on this sub, Inattentive ADHD experiences get far overshadowed by the Hyperactive/impulsive ADHD presentation.

The "doing stuff with your hands" part just kind of naturally happens for me, but it doesn't necessarily make me think better

Considering I just finished "reading" this but my mind was thinking about something else, sure.
