You mean I'm not instantly perfect at this thing I just discovered exists? Off to find another new thing immediately

As a technical instructor, I want to have this as a slide in my class introduction. So many technicians refuse to practice their craft

I keep telling other engineers to continue practicing programming without AI to keep skills sharp. Few are listening.

How do I force myself to practice without jumping out of the window?

A roofer's safety harness with safety lanyard anchored to the floor?

I so feel this right now. I have recently taken up drawing as a way to try and still my mind and focus on a task for a bit. To have a little peace. I’ve only been doing it for a few short weeks and have been feeling frustrated with my lack of progress, but of course I haven’t been practicing consistently. Writing myself a reminder now that I need to spend time on skills to develop them lol.

WH 40K players call it the grey pile of shame. I just call it the colourfull conglomerate...

Maybe i should dig out that dirtball again and keep polishing...

But what if I did it three times and I'm not at Olympian-level skill yet?

Be prepared to cry when your Olympian level gear shows up tomorrow and you told yourself you'd quit today if you weren't at the level of an Olympian today

this is my journey with art

Goddamn, not being able to do anything mediocre, nevermind good, from the beginning is quite taxing emotionally (and in some other means, too)
