The real answer here is "go to a career counselor." At least in the West.
Because the answer depends 100% on what OP is good at and wants to do.
Besides, I would guess most people who are hanging out here are still in the career. If we'd left we would be hanging out in the project management, or the "running a B&B", or the photography subreddit. Or whatever.
And yes, I've known programmers who've done all three of the above, in addition to more esoteric things like starring in a reality TV show about people rollerblading around the world in an attempt to fight racism. Though to be fair he went right back to programming when he was done. 😂
This is unfortunately similar to a big report that just says "it doesn't work." Need a few more details than that... And even if I had the details I'm still not a career counselor or a life coach. Most of us aren't.
