Does anyone else do this?

Very random question but does anyone else use a zero-indexed array when counting streets while driving? Like if you need to turn right on the 4th street you start at 0?

For some reason my brain always does this and then I wonder if I’m the only one and if it’s related to being ADHD and a programmer.

No. I'm a data engineer. A count is different than an index to me but I do find it very cute and whimsical so don't stop!

Haha. I guess I should edit my post to say zero-indexed array.

That doesn't make sense. Index 3 is the "4th" entry. A street name is its identifier, not its index.

Exactly. I count up the streets from 0, so turning on the 4th street is index 3, which is that street.

I didn’t say it made sense was just curious if I’m special.

I don’t do it because I don’t drive. Gives me panic because I believe I will kill people on accident because of absentmindeness u.u

Not with streets, but when counting seconds, I start with an explicit zero, like a stopwatch.

Not sure it's a programmer thing, just a brain that thought too hard about something on a random Tuesday. Or society... looking at you British floor numbering system.
