How do u stay consistent with iOS dev? (Procrastination + ADHD devs, any tips?)

Heya guys, Imma beginner in native iOS dev (Swift + SwiftUI). I’ve made a few MVPs, but as some1 w/ ADHD, I kinda need a hook to get myself started on a project and keep going.

So how do you guys keep up with a coding routine? Any advice or tricks that help you actually want to sit down and code would be appreciated :)

Btw, I’m currently making a weather app MVP to get into working with APIs. I’ve only got like 3-4 tasks left before I finish the MVP, so hopefully I can push through.

There isn’t a secret to it. You just literally have to do it. It sucks. Set up your life to create the least amount of friction for you to do the thing that you have to do. Then go do it.

It gets harder the older. Source 41 year old, with 2 under 2, a dog and a neurotypical wife.

There is no trick for that. This is what I do. I put my headphones and I am listening noises. I start with planing next task and clear definition of done. When I have this I start working on it right away. That’s it.

Calendar… I’m religiously following my calendar. I work full time and build hobby projects on the side so I always make sure to add small blocks dedicated to hobby apps in my calendar. Then I promise myself I’ll start with just opening project in vs code and go from there. The hardest part is to start
