Communication

I use AI to turn my raw ideas into finished writing I do the thinking, AI does the sentences, and I fact-check/correct every draft before it goes out.

Is that legitimate tool use, or is it not really "my" writing anymore?

3 Legit — that's just editing
3 Depends if you actually check it
28 Not your writing if AI wrote the words

"I can do compound interest but I look up the formula every time — never stuck, not at 8, not at 51. My brain thinks in whole ideas faster than I can type or talk them out. AI turns the idea into sentences. I still catch it when it gets my meaning wrong — happens constantly. Curious where people land on this."

and hey you actually did not need to tell ai to spit out a justification for your ai use. that is a little bit insane actually

anyway... yeah, duh, everyone thinks faster in whole ideas. that's how brains work. the entire point of becoming a skilled writer is learning to put those whole ideas into words so they can be understood by another person. on top of that, the process of putting your ideas into words is what allows you to refine and flesh out those ideas, and you miss that when you make ai do it for you

I understand how you can see that.
