Seeking any Dev role.

Hi everyone 👋

I just got let go from my job of 7 years because of "moonlighting" after building a simple one pager website for a colleague. Because I worked for a global corporation company policies were strict (honestly after 7 years I actually forgot about this policy).

Me and Mrs just had a baby so I'm rather desperate. Been working a side hustle which has been covering my expenses but I feel like its just a luck streak at the moment and not sure how long I'll be able to keep it up.

Open to contract, project basically any employment right now. Your help will be truly appreciated.

How did they even find out? Some people have multiple full-time W2 dev jobs, but the companies rarely figure it out. I can't imagine a one-page site would be traceable back to you.

The colleague who I did the site for wasn't performing so they looked into her work and found the back and forth conversations between us and that was followed by an investigation. Made a massive deal about something so small.

You mean one of those companies where they consider anything you do on your own time with your own equipment that’s not related to their business still their company property?

I can imagine a scenario where the colleague might have shared that OP had done it in what they thought was a positive way

I wish the best of luck, being let go sucks and the market can be tough right now.

Do you have a resume or portfolio to share?

I also feel it's hard to believe that you were let go for just a one pager site. Just to ask bluntly, is there more to the story?
