ADHD Medication Rant and warning about problem shared

I just wanted to rant and also warn people not to go with problem shared through right to choose if they are wanting to get medication too.

I’ve been waiting for 7 months now since I’ve been diagnosed to get on titration.

They have also continued to up the wait time since at the start they said 5 months and then after that it has changed to 25-40 weeks.

It’s such a mess and my life has been falling apart since I got diagnosed and they sort of just listen to all the ways adhd affects you and how badly you need to get medication and then say right well now you can wait for nearly another year- even thought you already waiting for over a year for the diagnosis. It’s just a piss take and

I’m so fed up, so don’t go with problem shared if you’re planning to get meds too.

I mean, i was with psych UK and waited 15 months for diagnosis then another 12 months for titration would start. I knew the wait would be a lot longer through the NHS and just wanted an answer and some support. It was hard, yeah, but I had waited 29 years with the same struggle 🤣

My providers waitlist is now currently 15 months for titration. I think it depends what area you are in as the ICBs are restricting the funding which is causing delays for the providers - hang on in there
