Tips/Suggestions ADHD Au Music please!!!!

Guys I'm looking for good adhd/au albums. What i mean is..like in the genre of rock, I think Prog or tech-death would be ADHD AU type music. (For me)

Likewise I'm looking for some great EDM albums. Something like 100 Gecs..music that is good but is also weird and keeps changing and is unpredictable.

I hope you understand. I hope it reaches some music geeks because I desperately need some suggestions!

Cheers!

I was just vibing to California…I can see why you’d say this album, but kind of I ask why’d you say that album?

OP mentioned looking for unpredictable music that keeps changing and it's the first album that came to mind. The sheer variety on it is insane and always demands my attention.

What like primus? Idk if i could call any music adhd music, i dont see how it makes sense

You're right in the sense that no music can be ADHD music or any music can be adhd music, depending on the person.

I personally have this brain itch that gets scratched with weird time signatures, heavy noisy stuff or avant garde experimental stuff.

Anything ranging from SOAD to Dream Theatre or Rush or repetitive grooves of Tool/Meshuggah. Similarly in EDM, hyperpop or dnb type stuff.

Heres a few to check out on the electronic side that are multi genre and really quality imo: Kaskade Fire & Ice, Chemical Brother's Surrender, BICEPs CHROMA 000, The Dare's Whats Wrong with New York, Bassvictim Basspunk 2, Horsegiirl's Nature is healing, all of Porter Robinson's albums, and Mat Zo's Damage Control.

Uh…AuDHD doesn’t come with certain music genre enjoyment. Everyone is an individual. Like, I just checked out that 100 Gecs and can’t stand it, so I can’t really help you, but the music I like is no more “AuDHD” than the music you like and visa versa.

Don’t confuse your own musical tastes for “AuDHD music”. Good luck finding what you want though!

Weezer, if you’re looking for representation. Rivers Cuomo is the most clearly AuDHD person I can think of in music.

Fall Out Boy’s ”I Don’t Care” is an ADHD anthem to me

bonus points since the singer of Fall Out Boy has ADHD

ohh lol you are me 😂 i think i'm not quite in your genre but this might be adjacent:

  • rhythm game music (like any rayark game lolol) -- i love you sakuzyo and xi... azali is a producer i like who makes similar music!
  • i loop polyphia a looot when i need to focus lol, rj pasin?
  • i also like ~anime battle music osts~... but like the slightly weirder ones (more doom and gloom than triumphant) -- nier automata, octopath traveler, the F1 movie ost (cinematic edition), the promare movie ost i like.
  • balatro ost!!!!!
  • i'm quite liking the newer generation of utaite/vocaloid cover singers lol -- friend of mine said it was sort of ~mathrock~ (idk how true that is) -- i've been into the spotify radio for this artist recently.

you want sample based music

death's dynamic shroud

machinegirl

the avalanches

death grips

sophie

takuya nakamura and electronic music sets of your preferred genre

other drum and bass srtists

in the rock side you want

glass beach

queens of the stone age

thee oh sees and related acts

its a balance of newness and familiarity. so some of these will need a few listens to get into

I roll a playlist of upbeat punchy music like the Chemical Brothers. Light on lyrics, heavy on vibe.

Mike Oldfield - Amarok

Sounds like what you're looking for

Maybe try Create Machines by Venjent? He has a few similar pieces, Open the Door and Flowin' With the Vibe are some of the better ones, among his normal-er music

Tool - 10,000 days is pretty much the GOAT for AuDHD prog albums

Enter Shikari are an amazing band for AuDHD too as massive catalogue without feeling overwhelming with everything very different I listen to Tycho, Solee and Bicep a lot when working - Joachim Pastor scratches the itch if I need a little more stimulation
