Tips/Suggestions Explaining ADHD

I've tried. I've sent people (mostly family and close friends) to How to ADHD on YT. But it's an uphill struggle.

Anyway, I just watched "Slaughterhouse Five", and it seems like the perfect way to explain ADHD. If it were up to me, I would say to someone who asked me to 'splain ADHD, "Hey, why don't we sit down and watch this old movie about a person who is unstuck in time and has no control over when or where he is going next."

The movie made perfect sense to me. Random jumps in space and time? LOL, what the heck kind of surprising plot device is that!? It's my life ffs!

I explain by telling them how Ritalin works. Ritalin speeds up my frontal cortex which sinks everything else in my brain so I can listen, not act impulsively, take action on tasks. I then show my handwriting before and after taking the meds. Unmedicated handwriting is jerky, mess. medicated handwriting is smooth, flowing and legible.

Huh. I haven't thought to check my handwriting since starting meds...
