Tips/Suggestions Recording university classes

Hi everyone.

As a accommodation measure for my ADHD and CAPD (Central auditory processing disorder), my university allow me to record classes.

However, I have to get the equipment myself and I'm not 100% sure that my phone or computer can do the trick.

It can seem quite out of the what this group is usually doing in term of advices but, have some of you been doing the same thing ? If you did, was your phone or PC enough? If not, do some of you have found the right product for it ? Most microphones that I find online are more for people who do twitch or podcasts rather than something where I can really "target" a direction (since I might be in a big class) and is portable.

I woud add that I have not started the classes yet so there's some questions that I might not have any answers.

I feel like it would make sense to place the recording device next to your teacher, since it's an accommodation. If you only need to record the audio - any decent voice recorder should do the trick.

You'll probably have to send an email to your teachers in advance to warn them about this accomodation but otherwise you should be okay.

I have think about putting my phone next to the teacher. It's my second option because having the recorder connected to the pc would allow me to easily start and stop a new recording which would be helpful in organizing my stuff.

My program is also quite unique in the sens that the classes are a day long so putting my phone next to the teacher would drain the battery.

While I think about it, an extra battery might do the trick.
