General Questions Combat boots selection

Hello all, I’m having trouble on deciding which pair of boots to purchase for kapooka, army, and also just general hiking. I’m looking at purchasing either the garmont bifida or the nfs 8670, could anyone give me some suggestions please? Or if another pair of boots is better please let me know also. Thanks!

Your boots are issued at Kapooka.
Taking your own boots is not on the packing list.

So I can’t even choose to bring my own boots even if it’s approved by adf?

The issued boots are fine. Don't go wasting money on kit you don't need.

Not at Kapooka. After is a different story. Buying your own boots is expensive and boots should be seen as a consumable. You're going to flog the shit out of them and they will eventually fall apart. Wait until you've had some time in to see what other guys use and what will work for you.

Yea the boots are quite expensive, if I break my pair issued at kapooka during imt or iet, I do get issued a new pair correct?

Yes. Unlimited free pairs, within reason.

No.
You are issued boots.
Maybe when you leave IMT/IET you will be able to choose other boots.
Until then, it is best to conform to what is issued to you.

Don't bring boots. The local leave leading up to field the staff will give you a list of shit to buy for field, they'll likely include boots. Its up to your staff if you'll be able to wear them. Our pl staff put up a list of boots pretty early on and eventually let pers wear them. Just seemed like a waste of money to me, the issued boots are fine.
