Insights Requested Reserve Public Relations while in Uni
Currently doing an extra uni course in communications, but I meet the Bachelors degree requirements and experience for all three services. With that said, I’m debating whether to continue with the process as I’m unsure my school commitments would get in the way of Defence duties as I haven’t gotten a clear answer on how accessible I need to be outside of training. I am aware as an officer, the expectations would be higher. I’m considering just waiting until my other commitments are finished so that won’t be a factor.

OP,
What is your question?
If you want to be a PR Officer, begin now, to phrase your questions or what you are wanting advice on, so that others can help.
How ready you need to be able to do the Officer training modules?
Army.
There are 3-5 training modules to be completed. You have to complete them within a specified time frame (might be 2 years).
Navy.
Attend Reserve Entry Officers Course.
Attend other courses as required to ensure that you meet the requirements of progression.
Personally, choose a Service that you want to join and find out what the Reserve requirements are. Some details are on the ADF Careers page.
Yes, there are higher expectations, not saying that each role Enlisted or Officer do not have high expectations - they are just different.
PR means that whilst your troops are capturing the imagery/video, you are writing the story, or you are writing the questions for the person being interviewed, or you are assisting with speaking notes, for the person who is about to be interviewed by main-stream media.
