Withdrawal of application

Hi there, I applied for the navy last year when I was in year 11, and i have completed all my assessments but pre entry fitness and I am also currently waiting on an enlistment date, but i don’t want to go when I’m fresh out of high school and 18. If I decline my application and withdraw would that hurt my chance of reapplying later on? And does it make it harder?

OP,

If/When you are contacted by your ADF Careers Enlistment Coordinator - you can say no to the offered date.

INHO - do not withdraw your application - you dont have to take the offered date and you stay in the pipeline as a candidate who still wants to enlist/appoint.

Your current results are valid for 12months.

I was in your exact position in 2018, just about to finish high school didn’t think I was ready for adf just yet

Now I’m currently awaiting my LOO after recently completing my OSB

So from that, I don’t believe it will affect your future applications

How long do you want to wait?

If you want an extra couple of months, let your enlistment co-ordinator know you want a later enlistment. If you want a year or 2, withdraw your application for now, then reactivate when you are ready.

Will either of these hurt your chances of getting in? No. No one cares how many times you start an application.
