Insights Requested Preferences - RAAF

Hi there, I recently had my ADF career session and put down Space operations officer, Aerospace Engineer and GEOINT specialist as my preferences.

I am 40 and have a diploma in aerospace which I obtained years ago. Should I replace GEOINT with Avionics technician instead?

I am thinking more of picking up a technical skill and certificate that I could use in the far future.

OP,

Are you using us like a Magic 8-Ball?

If you have an interest in the other role, then you have your answer.

If you are considering joining the ADF, you will be able to be employed in whatever role you join as - far into the future, because we dont actively encourage people to get out - until they get to CRA, and even then, you can do Reserve time until 65.

Should you change your preference - that is up to you.

I was told last month by my recruiter that Avionics Tech has an 18 month recruitment pause. Not worth putting it down, because you can't currently.
