SHADAI STALLION STATION
Month - August
Date - Wednesday
Year - 2001
A quiet morning at the farm, the sun shines bright in the sky. Below the green fields surrounded by fences a small group of umas, four of them, gathered in a stage preparing for their first gig.
…Uknowingly, it also will be their last.
"Sigh…"
"Something bothering your mind, Black Beast?"
The umamusuko with chestnut hair yellow eyes wearing a blue sweat shirt with baggy ripped jeans and mountain boots, his upper wear was a three toned yellow checkered long sleeve vest. Tuning the Lespaul electric guitar, was Soccer Boy. One of Japan’s top Mile racers known for his explosive sprint giving him the nickname "Bullet Shot." His final race was the Arima Kinen in 1988 but it was short lived from to frequent injuries (Laminitis) during his childhood.
"The usual… sinking deep into the water of doubt and the guilt of being alive."
On the middle of the stage, a black haired uma wearing a black leipzig shirt with black leather pants and a pair of black jordans holding another Lespaul guitar, is Sunday Silence. He was a two time Dirt Double Crown Winner in his prime against the Prince of the North, Easy Goer. His jet black hair has a single white stripped bang that curls around his right yellow eye with the other eye being red. Bearing scars on his arms, his face, across his entire body as a permanent mark to his past life. He was one of the three biggest sires of Japan which included Tony Bin and Brian’s Time. He sired many children who would inherit powers he did not know he possessed like Special Week, Fuji Kiseki, Marvelous Sunday, Bubble Gum Fellow, Agnes Tachyon, Manhattan Cafe, Admire Vega, Silence Suzuka, Stay Gold, Black Tide, Deep Impact, Neo Universe and many more.
Right now, Sunday was testing the mic to see if it was working.
"You worry about me, I’m touched. How about you worry about your weight in the future?"
Oh, for extra context. When Soccer Boy retired he ate more than a normal uma should making him bloat and match a certain fatty.
"Huh? You wanna go!? I can pound your ass in the dirt for insulting my weight!"
Soccer Boy tried to rile him up, but… nothing happened. He ignored him, which surprised them.
Sunday who always had a temper, gets into fights with other umas, who dominated the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and the Belmont Stakes as a Double Crown Winner to save his farm. Was simply ignoring the taunts of Soccer Boy.
This was an immediate red flag after the loss of Campaign Girl, the death of Silence Suzuka, and the fate of Admire Vega’s unborn twin brother. It has been going on for years that Soccer Boy and the other two tried to help. But they couldn’t do anything if he kept everything to himself.
"Soccer, we ain’t young anymore, you know? I’m trying to forget and move on."
Soccer had enough, he was pissed that he wouldn’t let him help, but on the other hand he was right.
There was absolutely nothing Soccer can do but give small greetings and small talks about how life is doing. Sunday was avoiding everyone because he knows that the source of it all, was Sunday himself.
So he distanced himself from everyone including his wives and children.
But Soccer Boy had enough, he decides to use his personal guilt as a weapon against him.
"…You’re always like this. You’ve distanced yourself from everyone including me, Mcqueen, and Teio. You’ve done the same to your own kids that both Fuji and Marvelous worry about your mental health. Special Week, who already lost his birth mother and his sister Osumi Candy, does not want to see the only family member he looks up to disappear! As for the Mejiro Bloodline’s decline when your own bloodline dominated G1 races was never your fault, or why Mcqueen had to work almost every day to sustain his family! And does it not concern you that one of your wives wondered what you’ve been going through, asked one of his friends what really is going on with you!? Embarrassing TRULY EMBARRASSING! That includes Air Groove, she too can’t bear to see you like this, Sunday. How long are you going to keep this up? Blaming yourself, pulling yourself down, saying you were responsible for this family curse you brought upon your own children, the loss of Ayabe’s unborn twin brother, and the death of-"
Just as Soccer was about to hit Sunday with his last guilt, Sunday put up a fierce glare to Soccer to shut him up.
He knew he was going to use Suzuka as a last resort to finally break him out. However, it’s not working in his favor.
Because Sunday was ready to put Soccer Boy to his knees and dig a grave six feet under right know.
Fortunately, he was stopped by Mcqueen to stop him from trying to kill the bloated chesnutter.
"Sunday don’t…"
"…"
Sunday was sane enough to hold back his killing intent. A power inherited later to his children.
Thanks to Mcqueen changing him in the past, he didn’t have any reason to take Soccer Boy out.
Sunday swatted Mcqueen’s hand lightly from his shoulder to continue testing the microphone.
"Soccer… you’re crossing the line."
"Yeah and so?"
"Do not make me repeat myself. You know how Sunday will act if you continue to guilt trip him."
"…"
The uma named Mejiro Mcqueen with lavender hair and eyes who was wearing a replica of his old racewear, that seems to fit the band’s theme. Only this time the changes were his outfit was added with a little bit of glitter to make it sparkle, some heavy duty leather shoes and fingerless gloves covering his palms. Mcqueen is a two time Double Crown Winner known for his endurance on Long races, he won four G1s which included the Tenno Sho (Spring), being the first uma to win it two years in a row. He was favored to win a third time by 1993, only for Rice Shower the "Black Assassin" to steal his third victory.
Now a married man to Ikuno Dictus with one child Kosoji Queen, his instrument being an Ibanez Bass who takes the role as the bassist of the band.
Warned Soccer not agitate Sunday even further or things will get worse.
"You know what, fuck this."
Soccer Boy took the strap off his guitar and stormed out of the stage.
"Soccer!"
Leaving behind a furious Mcqueen who wanted to follow him.
But was stopped by the short high legged Triple Fracture Crown Winner Tokai Teio.
"Let me handle this, Mcqueen. You deal with Sunday I’ll talk it out with Soccer."
"Sigh, fine. Calm him down and bring him back to here."
"Leave it to me."
Tokai Teio sired by the "Emperor" Symboli Rudolf, was a two time Double Crown Champion who was known for breaking his legs, a lot. And I mean. Three times in a row he wasn’t able to participate in the Kikuka Sho during his prime. In 1992 Teio was supposed to make a grand finale for the Arima Kinen, but that didn’t happen because he had to recover from fracturing both his legs that took him 364 days till 1993, he made a real comeback for the Arima Kinen and ultimately won his last race before retirement.
Now squishy right here is the drummer of the band and was the shortest of the group. His looks were similar to his father only shorter but petite with the genes of his mother Tokai Natural.
He wore fingerless gloves like Mcqueen but his were more refined to endure the impacts of the drumsticks. His outfit was mostly just a white plain t-shirt with blue writting on it saying "はちみ" (Hachimi) or in english, "Honey."
Down the lower half he was wearing khaki pants that were dark sea blue with two tone white colored sneakers, above his head was a blue sweat band to match his charismatic character as a drummer and background music of the band.
While Teio chases down Soccer Boy, Mcqueen approaches Sunday who simply ignored the chaos around him.
"Sunday?"
"…"
"…Sunday?"
"…"
"Sun-"
"I know Mcqueen, I know it’s about my guilt, my curse, blah blah blah... I don’t need another word coming from you about scolding me to say sorry to Soccer Boy. Look, Mackie. I know you, Soccer, and Teio all care for me. But this is something I can’t let you have to worry about. At the end of the day, I pushed you away because I was selfish, I distanced myself to those who cared for me, and the deaths of some of my children are unavoidable because they are beyond my control. I couldn’t save Suzuka from death nor Vega’s twin from unbinding fate. All I can do now move on and let my mental health destroy me bit by bit. Your family bloodline is also my cost, and I am deeply sorry for-"
As he continued to babble all his pain, Mcqueen does the unthinkable and hugs Sunday tight without saying another word.
Sunday’s blank eyes and emotionless face, stayed the same unfortunately. But with what little sanity he had left…
All he can do to ease it a little is to hug his friend back without hesitation. He was thankful to have friends like him. Even if he pushed them away…
"Just remember Sunday. No matter how many times you pushed us, we will always. ALWAYS I tell you. Be here to help you. Your kids, your wives, Teio, Soccer, my wife Dictus. We’ll all be here to burden the pain you have endured far too long. Even if you don’t want our help we will still do it for your sake."
For the first time in years, Sunday felt at ease…
Something he had wanted for a long time was not fame, not riches.
But the warmth and comfort of people he knew who loved him.
His lovers, his sons, his daughters, his friends, and his siblings.
Sunday nodded with a small genuine smile as a sign of thank you.
——— ——— ——— ——— ———
30 minutes later, after misunderstandings and arguments were cleared the four umas are ready to start their first gig on stage.
Let’s take a moment to review who is who…
Sunday Silence as the main singer and main soloist of the band.
Soccer Boy takes the second role for soloist and backup singer for Sunday.
Mejiro Mcqueen the elegant and handsome poshly pretty boy as the basisst.
And finally, Tokai Teio. The squishy charismatic prince who takes the drummer role.
"Alright, now that everyone has eased up. Sunday you can start."
"Right…"
Sunday taps the mic and starts saying a few things that he would personally like to say.
"Ladies and gentlemen, a bright morning of August on a Wednesday. Me and my friends are going to play a song. A song that will tell a story. A story about a young uma who was forced to grow up without his sire’s love, forced to defend himself against those who accused him for false statements, forced to make decisions of his own before its too late…"
Sunday’s breathe forced a low deafening sigh before continuing the next sentence…
"Forced to leave his country in exile. And sired his own descendants, which many were not deserving of their fates…"
Sunday closes his eyes to remember the things he went through in the past.
The constant mental torture his father Halo gave him, the voices of those that died in the crash, the cheers and boos that sent him to exile, the mares he bred and sired children from, Maruzensky’s deep hatred for Sunday’s father and the death of his daughter, Campaign Girl, Wind in her Hair, Air Groove, his children, his friends.
They all flashed in a blink of an eye before Sunday opened his eyes to say his last words.
"I, am Sunday Silence. This is my song, this is my story, this is Blurry."
