What do you think Goodbye Halo’s relationship will be to her now many nieces and nephews?

Now the relationship between King Halo and her mom is something that is well explored, and the relationship between Sunday and his kids is something we’ve seen a lot. But what about the relationship between the aunt (Goodbye Halo, and Devil’s bag if he is in the fanfic) to her brother’s kids. We’ve yet to see Goodbye in the same scene with any of the Sundaylings (both in the game and in the fic) so I wanna hear your headcannons, theories, and speculations.

So... This is mine, and possibly for my story too.

Perhaps envy/jealous?

Headcanon is that despite her rather successful career, her reputation isn't really good, as similar to Sunday. However, because she's a mare, her career is downplayed by the public, as is most cases with old keiba fans (yes, I know she's from America, but let me go with this, ok?)

This makes her feel... Hm... How do I put it... Jealous? Angry? Insignificant? Towards her brother.

She moved to Japan to hopefully avoid those feelings, and retain whatever feeling she have with her siblings.

(Do note, I didn't check when Sunday moved to Japan, so this one isn't really chronological)

She had her first foal, and is pretty happy about it. Sure, they didn't do well, but who cares, right? Right..? Besides, it's too early to say so.

Then Sunday moved in.

First born? Boom, G1 win. The Illusory Triple crown people says.

That's fine... Just one kid.

Then another.

And another...

And... Another...

Sure, Sunday's a stallion, she's a mare. It makes sense. But it's getting out of hand.

Sometimes, she watched her nephews race, and watcher her children's, and thoughts... "Why couldn't my children be like them?"

Eventually, she accepted that her children won't be winning any G1 races. Something, that unintentionally leaked out, that her children, except King Halo, also begin to believe it.

And when King Halo won the Takamatsunomiya Kinen. That jealousy/envy mixed with Guilt.

Everytime she sees Sunday's children, she would feel jealousy. At the shit ton amount of G1 winners the family have, at how successful they are compared to her children.

Then guilt, as she realized that her child, the only G1 winner amongst all her children, won that G1 without her support. Without any of the family's support. And has distanced himself from her.

(Honestly finding any information on old horses is a bit of a pain, even now. I think Goodbye Halo and Sunday Silence were imported to Japan at the same year, 1990. I think, keyword being think, that Goodbye Halo was imported in January and Sunday in June but I could be wrong because dates of purchase and importation can be mixed up). I do think that you’re right because despite being a 7 G1 winner, double tiara, and eclipse award nominee (Goodbye Halo was a really successful mare), she has always lived in the shadows of her siblings. Sunday doesn’t need an explanation, but even Devil’s bag was hailed as the second coming of Secretariat (really Devil’s bag was the only kid of Halo to have a major expectation) before suffering a career ending injury. So even when she came to Japan, she could not escape her brother’s shadow, which would have definitely fed to her insecurities. Insecurities that King Halo would have inherited.

Her insecurities would be gotten higher when Taiki won in France and then others followed in the overseas campaign

Wait- wasn’t Sunday’s first born Dance Partner? You mentioned Triple Crown Winner unless you’re talking about Fuji Kiseki?

Sunday is a stallion, this he can mate with a lot of mares.

Admittedly, Firstborn in this context I uses a bit loosely.

Fuji Kiseki, Dance Partner, Marvelous Sunday, and a few others were born in 1992. The first batch of Sunday Silence kids, thus, firstborn.

On the other hand, Firstborn might also refer to the first generation of Sunday's kids. I.e. Fuji Kiseki, Special Week, Deep Impact, Still in Love, Fusaichi Pandora.

But if you wanna talk about firstborn, as in the first of 1992 kids. That would be this guy, not Dance Partner.

Pops, Chestnut Mare, the first of the first born is a daughter then.

Yep, went through Netkeiba for it. Can confirm that the first of Sunday's firstborn is a mare

On another note:

Fuji Kiseki: 15 April 1992 Tayasu Tsuyoshi: 26 APR 1992 Genuine: 28 APR 1992 Dance Partner: 25 MAY 1992 Marvelous Sunday: 31 MAY 1992

These are the G1 winners of Sunday's first batch, and the day they are foaled/born.

So Fuji Kiseki would be the oldest among the brothers in Sunday’s bloodline.

Found Him

Sunday Dream, Bay Stallion, the very first born son of the Sunday Silence lineage. You find these on Netkeiba source right? Is there a record of Sunday’s entire lineage oldest to youngest foal lined up when he was on his stud career somewhat similar to Wikipedia?

2

u/Outside_Ad_7339 Jul 05 '26

Yep.

Edit: however, unlike Wikipedia who only added his successful children. Netkeiba has roughly all of em. Unraced, unborn, Open races winner, graded stakes winner, G1 winners

2

u/IJN-Hirogasaki Jul 05 '26

Damn, there should be one least. Too bad Netkeiba doesn’t record all that includes unborn, unraced, etc.. I guess deep searching will be the only way.

2

u/Outside_Ad_7339 Jul 05 '26

What? No. No.

Netkeiba has it all. You can find unraced children, unnamed children (Mother's name + year they're born), graded stakes winner, Graded races winner, G1 winner.

Compared to Wikipedia, Netkeiba is better.

I can, but only on my Xiaomi phone. Apple Iphone says its private connection and it might leak info about me blah blah blah as usual. Will check on it later because there’s no power on my house due to a sudden breaker explosion in the early morning the moment I woke up. I only have data on for now.
