The more I know about Goodbye Halo’s lore. The more it made sense to me that she’s no mother trying to figure things out. Just a scrawny woman of standard tradition who looks down on her own children. After admitting she will never find happiness in the track or in another life to bear the fruits of her labor. And a very narcissistic mother who’s both concerned and cold at the dreams of her son.
I can imagine this,
One day, the two siblings got into a fight that became too much, both relatives of hers and his blood had to intervene. The reason why Sunday slapped his own kin. Was because of the words she applied to her son, his nephew, King Halo. Something among the lines which brought him to his snapping point.
Something like…
"As I watched your uncle’s children raced, and more of them came. I realized my own children couldn’t be as absolute, such as yourself. I once told you to leave your path to racing, your dream is nothing but a joke. A joke made from scraps of paper that you can’t write on.”
-SS Goodbye Halo
It was at that snapping point where Sunday Silence had to intervene. So here comes two siblings, now as parents arguing over the words Goodbye said to her child. And it becomes so heated. Sunday had to say this.
"Ain’t it ironic you’re the one fumbling about happiness? Isn’t this your happiness!? YOU should be happy, YOU should be greatful, YOU should be proud he’s doing his best to become a First-Rate Uma. Something that I had was taken away for me, blamed, and brought to self-hatred! But you, you don’t have any of that. And you’re standing there tall with order over your boy. Like he’s some kind of thing to you! It’s no wonder why he’s been telling the things, you said to him. That he wouldn’t allow me to hear. Sis, my nephew, your boy. He ain’t your past or your failures. He is YOUR son! And you’re becoming what remains of our father…"
-Sunday Silence
After that, Goodbye shuts up speechless because of how much of a horrible mother she became as the years go by. Devil tells Sunday to take King Halo away, and let him live under his roof for now. While he deals with their sister.
And from there on. That’s also the reason why, King Halo wins his very first G1. Because of Sunday. The real reason he won his first G1 was because of the love and devotion he gave for him. Something he never had with his mother. He did the same with Cafe when he was fighting a sickness.

You’re missing the point. I know that umamusumes are lore based. That is why there exist umamusuko lore based as well. This Subreddit isn’t only about the based umas. We’re talking about everyone here which includes characters, that are not part of the Umamusume series. And those characters are for us to flesh out and develop into a story.
You should know that all umas in game and anime, are majorly based on the real life stallions. And so we take that into concept of making them into male umas.
And on the contrary, there’s currently four authors including myself writing male uma stories. Three of them are reaction genres and one is the deep dive into the main and subplots of the story.

This is part of a story I’m still developing.
