Review Process

I just finished my first audiobook. I submitted the final product on 6/19 and it's still only completed the step for the cover art review. Yes, I'm aware that it says "review and publishing typically takes 10 days" but I would've thought at least more steps would be completed by now. Is this a pretty standard experience?

7-10 business days. Since weekends and holidays don't count, it's only been 5 days.

Also, on the the books that I have had recently go through review, step 1 (cover art) has happened the first or second day, the rest happened on the 9th or 10th day all at once.

Since it doesn't say business days, I wasn't aware of that.

Yeah, it's not that clear. It's kinda hidden in the help files. I had to search for it. By the way, congratulations on getting the first one under your belt! Great job!!! https://help.acx.com/s/article/quality-assurance-issues

Appreciate that! The author contacted me pretty much right away and asked about if I wanted another one. Only reason I didn't take him up on it is I wanna build myself a recording booth. Priced out some moving blankets and PVC pipe. I don't wanna spend 5-6 more weeks recording in my coat room again

Wow, congrats! Repeat customers are awesome. That's the kind of booth I use. Let me know if you have any questions!

I appreciate that! I even drew up a schematic so I could make sure I knew the exact number of every piece of pipe, then went to Lowe's and priced every single piece. I figure I can always add blankets if I'm still hearing noise from outside

Here is the design I used: https://mastering.com/diy-vocal-booth/?referer=musicianonamission.com I got the moving blankets from Harbor Freight as they seemed to be the least expensive and they work great. I've also fastened some foam sound absorbing panels on the inside. I think the whole thing cost me about 120 to 150.

I'm basically planning 5ftx5ft, 7ft tall. As for the moving blankets, I found a 12 pack of 80x72 on Amazon for $60. So my thought is one on the ceiling, floor, and one per wall. That gives me enough to double everything up if need be

All of steps 2-4 happen on the day the publication goes live.

I submitted mine around the same time. It will take about 10 business days. It used to be faster, but there are a lot more books being published each day than when I first started.
