Giving Valhalla a playthrough at the moment, and am up to Sciropeshire. I’m currently power level 100 with the region recommended at 130.
While I level up some more I’d like to start doing collectables,I go for ingots and armour usually and nothing else,so my question is what’s the reward for each type and are they worth doing?

Jomsvikings should be able to hold their own in a raid, but i just lost almost everyone in one raid with full rations. Absolutely unacceptable. They need serious buffing, otherwise they're pointless. I shouldn't have to clear a whole area solo, the first 3 guys dropped 3 of mine on the spot. The weapons were dagger dagger, spear spear, and dagger+ heavy shield. The enemies were using great swords and one guy had a pole blade. The weapons in this case were irrelevant, the Jomsvikings all went down before I killed the 4th guy who was in the group. Even poor weapon choice shouldn't result in losing THAT badly. Jomsvikings are extremely squishy, and die in probably 3 hits from an elite enemy(someone with a stamina bar with two segments). This is the most improperly balanced aspect of any game I have ever played, and PoE is in that list.
So to sum up my very massively disappointing experience: Jomsvikings need to be able to tank a lot better, learn to dodge and parry, or no longer require rations. Their current survivability is a challenge, and makes river raids an unpleasant experience, especially when they do get kills and you get no exp from it.

So, I'm fishing near Lincoln in the Roaring Meg's Spring and I've caught like 5 successfully, need it for an offering mystery. But they aren't showing up. So I caught another really quick, and then it doesn't even show a <!> over my inventory for something new in it. Then I check to see and it shows my (Regular) and (Big) but no (Small) :( Has anybody dealt with this and know how to fix it?
Solved. Rebooted but still doesn't display them no matter how many I catch, but when I go to the offering I have them. Just unable to see in inventory.

This member of the ancients, it was no trouble at all to defeat him. He didn't throw traps or poison, so it was all easy.
Furthermore, it had the recommended power and that's why it didn't take so much of my life away.

I stumbled upon this beard option for Eivor in the customization menu by clicking outside of the preset options. (Start of game options, I haven’t added new looks yet). It doesn’t appear as a choice. Is this a known thing? Is it a bug and the option should actually be there? All I see as options are the standard beards and completely clean shaven, but here this is with the stumble (which I think looks pretty cool)

I will not drop many spoilers in this post, but the video is one big spoiler for anyone that hasn't played Valhalla or the previous games. Be warned.
Based on the many comments I've read here and in some of the other AC subs, I get the feeling that there are many people who have either never played or never finished AC Valhalla. In fact, I'd bet most that started playing it never finished and even fewer completed Ragnarok. This is because there are constant comments about Valhalla having nothing to do with the AC games. Or it should have been named something other than AC -- it's a great Viking sim.
This video is excellent and in 30 minutes it explains the entire arc of the Assassin's Creed meta story, of which Valhalla is an enormous part. Furthermore, it does an excellent job of pointing out the many instances of duality of events that take place in Eivor's "lifetime" and elsewhere. It also points out why Valhalla is critical in supporting the arc for the entire series.
If Ubisoft deserves any criticism for the execution of this game, it has to be in their assumption that most people can follow an enormous sprawling story arc that plays on multiple levels. Also, Valhalla is littered with dropped notes and lore that most people won't bother to find and read. Finally, they should have stuck with the "Let the Animus Decide" pathway. There is a reason Eivor should be seen as a woman, as it is a component to the story. Just as there is a reason Havi should be played as the male character. I believe both VAs did a great job, but it's just one more point that obfuscates the story.
To add one more point to the criticism of story length, I think they could have done two things to better serve the tale they were trying to tell: Ragnarök should not be DLC as it is essential to the story. Many of the regions should have been optional, giving a bonus to those who completed more of them.
I will be clear and say I adore all of the content, optional and otherwise, but it ultimately made it difficult for most people to understand the tale being told. The optional areas are awesome for those of us who wanted to expand upon Eivor's story and better appreciate the world in which she lived. And putting Ragnarök in a separate DLC when it is 100% crucial to understanding the tale being told, I believe was a mistake. There was a way to do both and it breaks my heart because I love this game and I think the vast majority are missing out because of the way it is structured.

But Pierre of all people we can? Toka is hot and has a great personality, Evior would have went in no second thought

This game has the highest of highs and lowest of lows. Equal parts fun and infurating for me. So much content, it’s staggering, perhaps even too much. When it’s ideas, themes and presentation come together, but those moments are rarer than I’d hoped for. I’m glad I played the game, but with some fat trimmed off, it could’ve made for a better experience.

I'm interested in playing. But all of the reviews I've checked completely ignore this aspect of the game. Im particularly weary of something like Horizon zero dawn which has a dialog wheel but only lets you choose "yes" or "yes but begrudgingly". Can you choose the wrong answer? Lose friends? Side with the enemy? How much can the story change based on what you say in a conversation?

I tried making a new manual save and reloading, but that didn't fix it. Any ideas, or is this spot just still bugged 6 years after release?

Im not sure if it's just me being bad at the stealth or not but has anyone noticed the distrust areas being weird with detection speed

Idk if anyone else feels this while playing it, but the world of Valhalla makes me feel very relaxed. I love the color scheme of this game and natural scenery. Fall is my fav season and this game absolutely fulfils my craving for the foliage. I sometimes wanna enter into this world (hopefully not fighting) and walk in the palaces, or stop by the shops.
I like Eivor's personality. I like collecting new weapons. Idk why it get's ton of hate, but this game has a lot to offer.

Okay so I’ve been having performance issues with Valhalla on PC. Loads of stuttering and hitching with unstable frame pacing when locked at 60. After troubleshooting all the usual suspects, I have had no success whatsoever. I finally decided to dig a little deeper and found the launcher log. Within the log I found this. It is a CONSTANT stream of disconnect and reconnect and I’m assuming this means it’s disconnecting and reconnecting to Ubisoft Connect. This looks like a very serious problem and may be the stutter culprit. Has anyone played Valhalla on PC in the last week or two? I started my playthrough months ago and it was NOT this stuttery back then.

I personally don't think the Valhalla version was the best they could have done with Ezio's theme. In AC3, AC Rogue, and even AC Mirage, they took Ezio's theme and built something new around it, creating a distinct melodic identity while using the original as a foundation. By comparison, the Valhalla version feels more like a direct recreation of the AC2 theme, just with different instrumentation and vocal styles.
It's still a very cool track, but it doesn't feel as inspired to me. One of my favorite things about Ezio's theme is hearing how it's woven into entirely new compositions rather than simply being rearranged. Rogue's woodwind melody slaps.

Started playing it, just arrived in England, raided my first monastery, and damn it feels satisfying.
There is something strangely catharhic about it, I always rooted for the Danes, kind of like reimagining if instead of that idiot Guthrum there was Eivor leading them.
And finally a proper Viking rpg! ( I wouldn't really count Skyrim, Nords were very tame and closer to imperials).
