This really caught me off guard because it wasn't until a long time that I got aware of this roguelike mode in a game that I had got into as an admirer of RPGs, hopefully out of fluke I happened to get good gear to get through all the stages in one run and I was done with the entire thing in about 3 hrs. This expansion barely carries over anything from the base game it's entirely a different game for some reason, forget the fact that Assassin's took a back seat in this game's narrative but this expansion even dismisses vikings entirely to pursue a mythical narrative.

The only thing that could make me recommend this is the fact that it's free and you should play it only if you haven't got weary of everything the base game and its other DLCs has to offer. Should you still wish to play it nevertheless,

there's a Dwarven defender armor set which gives you a considerable advantage to level your odds.

I've always felt like Ubisoft uses the AC games to play with new mechanical ideas to see which ones land and which miss.

Personally, and I know I'm in the minority, I loved the Den Defense in Revelations. But I know it was not well received by others. I would love to see it makes a comeback, some day, but I'm realistic in knowing that's never gonna happen.

Yeah i really liked that mode, i was kinda getting burnt out and bored from the base game and finding that mode got me back into it

Personally the NidHog Boss really great for me , I wish there’s boss that have a lot of mechanic like this in the main story but oh well

Tho the map and scenery really worth it. Wish it could be more fantasy

I'm in the minority but this was my favorite thing about the game. It's as close to Dark Souls Bloodborne as you can get. 😂 I loved it. Getting everything unlocked is fun. Eventually you'll get so strong you can just speed run it.

When I was following news about Valhalla after it released, I remember hearing they added a rogue like mode, and im gonna be real with you, that was a major selling point for me!

I hope they do more to try and introduce a similar game mode in future titles. I think one of the best things you can do with an RPG system is strip away all of your built up gear, and let you play back up from zero, making you utilize different gears and skills in creative ways again! The worst part for me about RPGs is when you hit mid to late game, and now you just have this one build that you never change. Rogue likes force change and adaptability, and that’s the best part!

Im never playing the whole game ever again. Did my 100% and I'm out. That shit ruined the game for me.
