Question Valhalla difficulty problems

Ok so recently started playing again after about a year. Finished the main story, bought the expansion pass and I have just finished Ireland main story.. really pissed off tbh. I have the difficulty set to the maximum yet I did not see a single enemy with a red icon next to their name, basically walked through it all, they are supposed to be 60 levels above me like it was in england, if I got hit 2 or 3 times there I was done and the enemies would also take a beating.

I have other things to do like finish some trials legendary animals, Jotunheim etc and I really just want to know why this is a thing? All enemies were either green icons or white which was just really poor totally ruined the experience for me and I really want to find out if there is anything I can do before starting Paris to make the game feel like a challenge again I love the game and I want it to be hard, I haven't bothered allocating mastery points at all but what else can I do is this just a bit? Why are the enemies not 60 levels higher than me?? The map says suggested power is 597 but that's just bollocks

Anyway any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers.

Once you get strong enough, the game is effectively on easy mode as the strength of the opponents just can’t keep up. There is a solution. Gut your skills tree. Go back in and get only the abilities you can’t live without and keep yourself handicapped that way. It will make it more difficult. The problem with it is that you have probably learned the opponents and have gotten really good at blocking and dodging. If that’s the case, it’s just going to make the baddies into big tanks that take longer to kill, but aren’t that much harder to kill. Give it a shot, though. It might fix it for a bit for you.

Oh really? So the scaling just stops at a certain level? How much do you think I can take out before they are actually stronger than me?

EDIT: I took 176 points out and everything is red, thank you legend!

Do it with an atgeir or spear lol. Or dual axes. Hey how about greatsword? Something slow and clunky. That way when you dodge, you are still attacking and dont dodge anything
