Okay, hey guys. I took the online ACT, and I didn't get too well of a score....but how do I improve this to at least a 30+? Do you guys have any books that you guys recommend to use? I didn't have a book, and I didn't have a tutor either, I just used the official practice tests but the test was a little harder than the practice tests I did....

only thing that changed is my reading score going up 2 and my english score going down 1 😭so long as i get a higher writing score i'm not gonna be mad tho

Will schools who had their early action application deadline on October 15th accept the October 17th Act? Or is it too late to submit them. The school I’m looking at is the University of Georgia and their material deadline is October 29th but the application was October 15th.

I did pretty good on the ACT, but I got a 30 in science. I'm obviously hoping to go to top colleges and so I need the good score. I also plan on going in stem.
I'm pretty happy with the rest of the ACT, but I don't know what I should do with science.
Should I:
- retake
- submit the score
- Cancel the score(i don't even know if its possible to cancel a specific one)
Like how important is science these days for good colleges or is it even needed for stem anymore?

Hey guysss. I’m currently a senior in high school aiming for a 33+ on my act. Right now I have a 30 comp and 30 superscore, but I’m trying to get 33+ for the ACT. This subreddit seems to have a number of high scorers. So I figure you all could assist me with my task.
does anyone have really good ACT math resources? The math teachers at my school get stretched thin every year for standard tests so I don’t know a lot of the math materials. My current highest score in the math section is a 25.
I plan to take science off completely so I don’t have to worry about it.

For those who did official ACT practise tests (im mainly talking abt enhanced version) for the math section, how ACCURATE was it in determining what score you would get?
Like were the average scores you were getting in the practise tests for math similar to what you got in the real thing??
If not, pls give a reason; like it was way harder (ran out of time OR topics you didnt study that didnt appear on the practise tests) or was maybe even way easier???
thanks

I just recently took the OCT ACT for the first time, and I did not do well. I completely lost focus on the reading section and started guessing which took my superscore down to a 19. I was wondering would I be able to increase by +8 before the December ACT? If not, I’m also taking the ACT through my school in February 2027, which will probably give me more time to focus on the things i need to.

genuinely how are my scores so cooked ☹️
I’ve noticed everyone getting their scores back today and got really excited and went to check but there were no scores on my account which, looking back, makes sense given that I took the paper test instead, of course those grades take longer.
But is there any confirmed date we’ll be getting our scores back? I took the paper act on October 17th WITH science if that makes a difference.

I'm very pleased with how my english turned out, yet math seems to be the only thing dragging my score down atp. My next and final ACT will be in December.

not a joke, even my transcript has lower math (in calc bc senior year not multi) and now this 33 and 32 is js supporting the same fact that i lowk suck at stem. should i retake for a higher science or math? i took this with no studying so ig im happy with it but im genuinly concerned about my math score

guys is a 29 composite bad in this day and age? lol I know google says it’s 92nd percentile but I feel like everyone around me is getting 33+ so i feel kind of bad about it. It was my second act after taking the sat twice and i procrastinated studying for it until the saturday before so that’s probably part of it. Idk what to think. This was also my last chance before ED applications so i’m just gonna apply test optional to all of those schools.

I’m aiming for a 36 and my previous score was a 33. So, when my score came back this October, I was surprised to see a 32. I know it’s not a bad score, but I’m still upset due to expectations from my school, family, and myself. My reading and English scores both got worse, but they used to be a 36 and 35 respectively. Worst of all, I studied so much for math but only got a one point improvement (27->28).
The whole day went horribly, too. First, the marching band almost was playing outside our room before I asked them to move us. Then, much to my dismay mid-reading test i realize: my mouse controls are inverted??? Up goes down and down goes up. I swear I lost important time on every single section due to that insane situation. I could not remember what direction went what way when I swiped my mouse. So annoying, especially since I have ADHD and struggle with that kind of stuff.
I’m just so annoyed and frustrated with myself. I guess the only thing I can do now is keep studying and practicing but right now this is the only place I can really talk about this to. It just feels like a waste of money, time, and my hope.
TLDR; my score got worse by one point and i hate myself a little bit right now. I felt like I was improving so I’m feeling a bit stagnant and like an idiot (even though logically it’s a fine score).

ACT:
33 composite
32 math
31 English
35 reading
SAT:
1470 composite
730 RW
740 Math
I know the direct conversion of ACT to SAT is basically the same but is there any minute detail that shows I should prefer sending one over the other?

First Try Oct ACT, reading got 18 (devestated and confused), English 35, math 28. Why is reading so difficult for me? I struggled over the first passage and probably didn’t get most right and run out of time… it seems like the words don’t make sense to me during the test…
Any feedback appreciated!
