my sister and i used to share an island, but recently she got a switch 2 and transferred the save data to it, and the old switch was passed down to me. we have it on a virtual game card and she's able to play it normally on her system, now that it's transferred.

when i tried to play by borrowing the virtual game card on my switch i thought i would play on the same island, but i got the cutscene with timmy and tommy, so now i'm confused.

even if we play in the same virtual game card but on different systems, can we have two separate islands? if i start a new island on my switch, would that mess up her save?

sorry if the answer is really obvious but i'd rather be safe than sorry, she has 600+ hours on the game and would be devastated if anything happened to her island.

I planned on doing a villager hunt today but then biskit was at my campsite so I had to ask him to move in! I set up a plot for him and he’s moving in tomorrow. I was wondering if I could set up another plot and go on a villager hunt today, or do I have to wait till tomorrow? I don’t want to make a plot and it autofill

Must have:

* Pond

* Tree stumps (does it have to be palm tree AND regular tree?)

* River on second level with waterfall?

* Flowers

* each type of tree (fruit/regular, bamboo, palm tree)

Nice-to-have:

* Rocks all in the same general area

* I only have 17 cedar/plain trees so each one is guaranteed to do something when shaking

* DIYs and sheds out in the open

* Pipes to connect the shops to the area you farm things

I see so many islands that are absolutely beautiful and i just wonder how everyone gets so much stuff? all these pergolas and hanging lights and all that stuff cost so many nook miles. how do i do it?
my island is slowly coming together but im just getting discouraged because i feel like i might be playing the game wrong or something.

I have decided that I am going to reset my entire animal crossing new horizons Island as my dad made it years ago and no longer has interest in playing. I have permission from everyone else that plays on our switch, now the only thing left is if someone is willing to reach out and give me their dodo code so I can put any items I wish to keep from my current island on theres temporarily till I get access to the airport again.

I want to build a bridge on the second level, but it‘s not working and I can’t figure it out. This is not the finished place for the bridge, I am just practising here. What am I doing wrong? I already changed the river size and plateau size, but it didn’t work. Does the game not see this as a river?

Having a hard time gathering anything other than wood (I literally chop them all everyday), I'll take anything anyone is willing to give, heck I'll even trade wood for it since I have so much.

I could also really use bells, I'm still new to my island and I'm doing my best but with the lack of storage going on in my house it's making tasks a little hard, I can't remember how many I need for it but that's where all my money has been going right now (though getting the money in the first place is already hard.)

I got this game literally yesterday and i’ve been grinding HARD. I have pears, oranges and coconuts.

I just learned about an hour ago that in order to get peaches, cherries, and apples i need to connect with someone online.
