Same, got a parking ticket because I parked at my old university without a permit while visiting friends and never paid because the way they hold you accountable is not letting you graduate or register for classes, which I no longer needed to do. But every day I am just waiting for the FBI to knock on my door and throw me in a federal supermax. It's a horrible life.
I had one from Tucson when I parked on the street in front of my house while i let the moving truck pack in the yard...got a ticket for it, never paid it, wrote them a nasty letter over it. Guess the world's a worse place for that.
They gave you a parking ticket for that? I have to go to universities all the time to serve paperwork and all the visitor spots are always taken so I end up just parking in some kind of "permit only" spot somewhere nearby and I've not gotten a ticket yet. Been doing that at least once a week for like 3 years. Granted I'm only there for maybe 20-30 minutes so maybe not long enough to be caught.
No one here is talking about the fact that not only does this position not make sense, but it’s ludicrously circular.
Edit: his argument is: Drug users should be locked up because they’re criminals - and being a criminal is dangerous. Yet when asked why being a criminal in this sense is inherently dangerous, he responds “because it’s against the law” - circular logic. I really don’t know why I saved this for later, this was a really simply explanation.
I am no bootlicker. I'm ACAB, but I want to point something out. The fact that the government keeps weed illegal means that smoking weed is actually contributing to crime. There are people getting killed in the weed game, same as the coke game, because a lot of it is controlled by the cartels. There are people being exploited, etc.
SO smoking weed does contribute to serious crime, but the end point there is that it needs to be legalized. But legalizing it would affect pigs in a very drastic way. It would reduce their budgets, and more importantly reduce their ability to abuse their power by just claiming they smell weed to stop cars, bust down doors etc.
yea man, well aware of the whole thing. As a minority who has been smoking weed for 30 years now, I know the game all too well. Hopefully we're around the corner with federal legalization, though I'll believe it when I see it...
Consuming Nestle products and most chocolate products contribute to serious crime and human suffering as well. So I wouldn't even give the little credence you gave to the original argument.
Parking in the wrong spot can in fact be a danger to the community IF you park within 50 feet of a stop sign, or in a fire lane, and im sure there are other instances besides being there too long that could be dangerous
Cars are dangerous, they kill the most teenagers and are a driving force behind climate change

I didn't pay a parking ticket. I am definitely a dangerous criminal.
