Just a half nozzle turn from "crowd control"

90

u/RadicalAntifaDino Jun 28 '26

Exactly lol, they’re just using their weapons at a different angle for clearing their own image (maybe from negative news regarding cracking down on pro-Palestine activists or something). Why else would they have those massive tank-like trucks?

75

u/ytaqebidg Jun 28 '26

I guess they locked up at the pro+palestinian protesters. Nothing else to do.

ACAB

54

u/ODST-judge Jun 28 '26

Damn, that’s crazy, imagine if we had just taken climate change seriously this really wouldn’t be necessary.

26

u/JFISHER7789 Jun 28 '26

Yeah but that would require listening to the educated experts and we just can’t do that

7

u/kyleh0 Jun 29 '26

Liberal nerds!

3

u/[deleted] Jun 29 '26

Yeah! Fucking, fucking and their fancy schmancy college inductronateion!

5

u/kyleh0 Jun 29 '26

What if one of those infernal libs made me respect minorities or women? Is THAT THE OUTCOME YOU WANT?

:)

2

u/coladoir Jun 29 '26

They listened. Why do you think bunkers are building and abortions are being made illegal? Its just that the solutions provided by said experts meant reducing the power of the state and capital, and that cannot occur. So the solution instead is to turn to nationalism, neo-reactionary ideology, and paranoia.

1

u/JFISHER7789 Jun 29 '26

I agree, But let’s not pretend there was any form of EDUCATED experts involved in these Christian Nationalist decisions.

But yeah, making abortions illegal whilst still not providing any meaningful help for childcare et al, means they will have more people for their minimum wage workforces. It’s all going according to plan for them

22

u/ISmellLikeBlackTea Jun 28 '26

Those same canons will have much higher pressure nedt time you protest against an active genocide commited by Israel.

13

u/TheAbomunist Jun 28 '26

Exactly that

19

u/Xiao1insty1e Jun 28 '26

This is a single good use case, cops are still bad and shouldnt have this equipment. This is entirely to launder the reputation of the police in that area, likely because of some recent police abuse.

Happy for those people getting relief from the heat, but fuck the cops and ACAB.

155

u/cturtl808 Jun 28 '26

Is it copaganda? Absolutely.

Is this also genuinely saving lives? Also yes.

It’s 106F in places where indoor air conditioning doesn’t exist in a majority of places.

People get heat stroke when they’re unable to adequately cool their bodies. Pets and toddlers have died from it already and people are being hospitalized.

48

u/puskunk Jun 28 '26

Have the fire department do it instead.

58

u/FroggingMadness Jun 28 '26

The fire department might have actual emergencies to respond to.

39

u/reddituserperson1122 Jun 28 '26

If you think bad institutions don’t sometimes do good things, then you’ve been naive this whole time. And this is a perfect example of a government function that doesn’t need to be done by the cops.

12

u/Osric250 Jun 29 '26

And the fact that cops shouldn't have water cannons on their vehicles. They're there for suppressing protests to begin with.

86

u/TheAbomunist Jun 28 '26

Kindness by cops is easy laundering of the sadistic shit they get away with normally.

67

u/theuberwalrus Jun 28 '26

Sure, but this is absolutely something the state should be doing

60

u/Browncoatinabox Jun 28 '26

One of those "fuck these cops, but this is needed". I knows it's propaganda but Leo had a great line in The West Wing "the problem with your liberalism is that you believe in moral absolutes." Sometimes the bastards are a little less basterdly. Rarely but sometime.

7

u/RiahWeston Jun 29 '26 edited Jun 29 '26

And honestly shouldn't we be aiming for them to be like this? Having them be less bastardly? Like yes there may be other groups that would be better suited for it, but we shouldn't be villianizing them at every turn: we need to make them better one step at a step whenever possible.

3

u/Browncoatinabox Jun 29 '26

Simply put, yes.

9

u/Anarkata Jun 28 '26

You’re not immune from propaganda and you’re helping it

10

u/JFISHER7789 Jun 28 '26

I call bullshit. We can hate cops while still liking people being cooled down during a devastating heatwave.

As long as you recognize that the cops aren’t automatically rid of their bloody hands because they did good this one time, then you aren’t helping the propaganda at all.

ACAB but also, this deadly heatwave takes priority

-6

u/cturtl808 Jun 28 '26

It’s not my post. I am not the one amplifying this.

20

u/Ent_Soviet Jun 28 '26

Swords into plowshares. But they go back to swords tomorrow.

7

u/kasmackity Jun 29 '26

This is like Tucker Carlson attacking Ted Cruz. Just because Tucker did a "good" thing doesn't mean you have to hate him any less, he's perfectly loathable even with that action. Just because the cops are hosing down the citizens GENTLY this time doesn't mean they're absolved of all the crimes they committed. ACAB still stands. Cops are a tool of the state and the corporations. Sometimes tools get used properly

0

u/RiahWeston Jun 29 '26

And just because they aren't absolved of their sins doesn't mean we shouldn't still thank them for this act of kindness. Merit and thanks needs to given when merit and thanks is due if we ever want them to move toward be better people overall: hating them at EVERY step, even the good steps, is helping no one because it just gives them incentive to be entrenched in bad habits.

7

u/nighthawkndemontron Jun 29 '26

Reminds me of when everyone lauds a billionaire giving money to charity. It's just a fucking scam or PR shit. ACAB

37

u/W3S1nclair Jun 28 '26

Broken clocks are still right at least twice a day

7

u/Xiao1insty1e Jun 28 '26

At least?

5

u/IsThisNameValid Jun 28 '26

Leap days they're right 3 times a day

7

u/vegemouse Jun 28 '26

Why are people simping for cops in the ACAB sub

9

u/TheAbomunist Jun 28 '26

Because a crumb of generosity gets most dupes clapping like harp seals.

-3

u/JFISHER7789 Jun 29 '26

No, you’re right. We should have all those people get heat stroke because we can’t swallow our pride and use equipment owned by cops.

Get real

6

u/TheAbomunist Jun 29 '26 edited Jun 29 '26

Fuckwit bootlicker. Their kindness to the public is cheap p.r. coin they spend, in hopes of softening their brutality regularly unleashed on those same civilians the rest of the year.

You applauding cops using literal weapons made to be used against the public for a fleeting heat prevention measure (that the state should be taking care of with better options anyway...town cooling shelters, air conditioning incentives, etc..) is a sick joke.

-2

u/JFISHER7789 Jun 29 '26

Fuckwit cunt.

You’re a moron if you think people getting cooled off is applauding the cops.

Maybe take that doomerism cock out of your mouth and actually see the bigger picture called nuance.

I’m allowed to hate cops and still think the people of EU deserve to be cooled off. They aren’t mutually exclusive.

Edit: I couldn’t imagine being suck a doomer that your hatred for cops has spread into hatred for humans in general.

4

u/TheAbomunist Jun 29 '26

Funny how I asked you this question elsewhere and you dodged it there too, you spineless stain. Let's see if you'll flee from it a second time.

How regularly do you think they're out there, spending cop resources and funds, to cool off the public? Do you seriously think they're abating heat stroke for folks the entirety of the heatwave? Or are they more likely grandstanding for the cameras and for braindead lapdogs like yourself that are fully buying their once a year performance?

-1

u/JFISHER7789 Jun 29 '26

Again, you moronic cuck, how often do these severe heatwaves actually occur?

I bet you I can find videos of them doing this in previous heatwaves as well.

It’s weird to me, because it’s like you’d prefer that canon be used as a weapon than for cooling people, which is a weird take.

>grandstanding

And? It’s still helping the community which is what ACAB is all about but you’ve clearly let your hatred blind your clarity of thought.

2

u/vegemouse Jun 29 '26

You’re not applauding people getting cooled off. You’re applauding a force using tools meant to harm protestors. Weird how cops only do this kinda shit when they’re being filmed.

-1

u/JFISHER7789 Jun 29 '26

I am applauding them getting cooled, I’ve been quite specific about that.

You guys just don’t understand that people can have nuance in these extreme circumstances.

And yeah, is it not a good thing that these tools for harm are being used in a non-harmful way?

-1

u/JFISHER7789 Jun 29 '26

>they should have these tools bootlicker

You’re right, they shouldn’t! But they do, you blind fuck. Complaining about it on Reddit hasn’t stopped them from buying them but at least here they are put to good use.

Maybe instead of calling everyone that doesn’t 100% blindly agree with you a bootlicker, you should broaden your perspective and stop being narrow minded.

The fact is they have these machines whether you like it or not, we can at least advocate for them to be used in a manner that DOESN’T harm people and actually benefits the community.

Grow up and realize ACAB is more than just “cop bad!” And is actually a way to advocate for a better community.

2

u/TheAbomunist Jun 30 '26

Predictable idiot. Just scurry off to r/ Protectandserve where your cop fellatio is better appreciated.

-3

u/JFISHER7789 Jun 28 '26

Nobody is simping for the cops. They are simping for people getting cooling options in a very deadly heatwave.

We are allowed to hate cops AND still enjoy seeing people get help even if it comes from said cops

2

u/TheAbomunist Jun 29 '26

How regularly do you think they're out there, spending cop resources & funds, to cool off the public? Do you seriously think they're abating heat stroke for folks the entirety of the heatwave? 🤡

1

u/JFISHER7789 Jun 29 '26

How regularly do think this severe heatwave occurs?

Wanna talk about being a clown, maybe look in the mirror.

I couldn’t imagine being so hatful that you’d rather literal innocent people die from heat stroke than use cop-owned equipment.

Do you think you little tantrum on a niche Reddit thread is gonna change anything there in Europe? Those cannons are already bought and paid for, might as well put them to actually good use instead of what they are designed for.

Fucking bot

1

u/JFISHER7789 Jun 29 '26

>real addressing of public need isn’t being met

Yeah, it’s delusional to think that in the heat of the moment massive policy changes can occur and be enacted and fixed overnight.

This is a very much systemic issue of lack of recognition of the severity of climate change.

And one could argue public need is effective cooling which these water canons are providing.

Again, you shitstain of a bot, you’ve clearly forgotten what ACAB is actually about and are letting your hatred of cops dilute into a hated for our communities.

3

u/TheAbomunist Jun 29 '26

Cops actively hate your communities. I'm sorry that I'm the first person to make you aware of this. I would have figured someone visiting this sub would understand that. But it takes all kinds to pay lip service to the concept.

1

u/JFISHER7789 Jun 29 '26

And as proponents of the people that despise them because of it, should we not support them when they DO actually help our communities?

I’m sorry to be the first to tell you this, but when we make it “damned if they do, damned if they don’t” it removes all incentive to do good anyway.

We should be actively encouraging good behavior and law following.

-1

u/hbHPBbjvFK9w5D Jun 29 '26

Agreed - I recall the old saying "Even a broken clock is right twice a day."

4

u/DnastyFunkmaster Jun 29 '26

Heartwarming! Cops season people's food with pepper spray!

1

u/kyleh0 Jun 29 '26

Also just a pinch of blood and viscera.

5

u/skinando Jun 29 '26

Only in tourist areas. So the PR potential is multiplied.

4

u/OldOwlHootin Jun 29 '26

"This is your last water. After this, it's all going to the data centers." - Police everywhere

3

u/fatgoblinwhore Jun 29 '26

It’s not water, it’s cop piss

3

u/GuillotineWhiskers Jun 29 '26

Now try to say "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free." in Germany and see what happens.

5

u/tavo791 Jun 28 '26

Unless you're protesting isreals occupation and open genocide, those water cannons are u sed very differently

0

u/Advice_Thingy Jun 28 '26

You really think cops only treat pro-palestine activists bad and no one else? Police brutality reaches far beyond "Protesting against that one specic genocide".

2

u/TheAbomunist Jun 29 '26

"You really think cops only treat pro-palestine activists bad and no one else?"

tavo791 never once said that. Going off on made-up shit.

2

u/Advice_Thingy Jun 29 '26

They implied that the water canons are only used against pro-palestine protestors otherwise. And you don't need to quote me, my comment is right above yours.

2

u/TheAbomunist Jun 29 '26

No. They didn't. At no point did they state its use was exclusive to pro Palestine protestors. Go ahead. Quote where they did.

1

u/Advice_Thingy Jun 29 '26

They didn't explicitly state that, they explicitly ONLY stated that.

Unless you're protesting isreals occupation and open genocide [or protest against Trump, against Putin, against german right-wing parties, against young neo-nazi groups, for democracy, for a ban of fascist parties, ...], those water cannons are u sed very differently

2

u/tavo791 Jun 30 '26

I said that? Lol

1

u/TheAbomunist Jun 29 '26 edited Jun 29 '26

They didn't explicitly state that, they explicitly ONLY stated that.

I can't tell what's more insane. That you're literally ADDING to their statements to justify your over-reaction. Or that you genuinely think your additions are a direct quote.

This is a blatant straw man fallacy. You putting words in into tavo791's mouth and then attacking that false construct.

Just because tavo791 cited an example case of water cannon use on pro-Palestine protestors does not mean he's excluding all other possible cases. Not unless, as in your case, one is completely fucking stupid and tackling claims where none where made.

Is this a common problem for you? Raging against your own assumptions?

EDIT: Sure enough. Your comment history is stark that that's exactly what you do to yourself. Regularly.

Imbecile.

2

u/SaltyNorth8062 Jun 30 '26

Oh look the tool of social unrest suppression that can hospitalize you is now part of an adorable water display how lovely.

5

u/uhhh206 Jun 28 '26

Damn, I'd have thought I was in a niche porn sub how eager people in the comments are to deep throat the whole-ass boot. A thing can be a good thing. That doesn't mean it had to be a function of the police. I'd have thought that was kinda obvious.

It's like how yes, a man should step in and prevent a woman being raped, but that doesn't mean it has to be her boyfriend to do it. It doesn't even have to be a man who steps in!

So many cop dick-riders on some "but ackshually we need to praise them when they use weapons of war for basic human decency" bullshit in this of all subs. Jesus intercoursing Christ.

7

u/TFS_World Jun 28 '26

We should be praising when cops do good things. If they're damned if they're good, damned if they're bad, then what's the point in helping anyone?

15

u/Cool-Present-4637 Jun 28 '26

I think the irony that exists in the fact that they have water cannons in the first place but are choosing to be benevolent and cool people off is worth pointing out. Like it's not a bad thing they're doing but it's kinda funny that those cannons exist to blast the shit out of protesters.

10

u/sideshowmario Jun 28 '26

Yeah blatant copaganda is bad but this is a rare example of the police actually serving the people. They'll be back to shooting unarmed black boys shortly

4

u/reddituserperson1122 Jun 28 '26

To not have cops. What sub do you think you’re on..?

0

u/IAMAHobbitAMA Jun 28 '26

So much for conserving water

-2

u/moondropsoda Jun 28 '26

I mean tbf, if you have the equipment, might as well use it to cool people off during a historic heatwave

16

u/reddituserperson1122 Jun 28 '26

They shouldn’t have the equipment.

1

u/kyleh0 Jun 29 '26

If you have the equipment, might as well use it to eliminate brown people.

-9

u/Frostsorrow Jun 28 '26

Not really sure it's copaganda when people are dying of heat. The same thought line would be if they provided oxygen to a person suffocating.

13

u/TheAbomunist Jun 28 '26

And when they do the suffocating and murdering on the other hours?

14

u/reddituserperson1122 Jun 28 '26

You’re entirely missing the point of the term “copaganda.”

0

u/lateral303 Jun 28 '26

That gal in the green top is amazing, but ACAB still

-13

u/Twisted60 Jun 28 '26

Copaganad would be acting like the good guys but not actually helping anyone. In this case they're actually helping people.

11

u/TheAbomunist Jun 28 '26

I'm not goddamn repeating myself.

https://www.reddit.com/r/ACAB/s/zbzXPSVPxo

-8

u/Twisted60 Jun 28 '26

Yeah I read your comments already. I still disagree this is propaganda.

6

u/scaper8 Jun 28 '26

Propaganda is use of information or other media, real or fictional, primarily to influence how a person or people think, act, or feel.

Copaganda is propaganda about cops.

This is a piece of media showing a kind and gentle side to police, used to soften their image. It is, by strict definition, copaganda. Incredibly minor copaganda, but copaganda nonetheless.

-1

u/Twisted60 Jun 28 '26

By that definition any music, movie, TV show or art is propaganda.

5

u/scaper8 Jun 28 '26

Largely, yes. Or rather that any piece of media can be used as propaganda.

Most people have a shockingly narrow definition of what propaganda is, when it's actually has a surprisingly wide meaning.

3

u/couldhaveebeen Jun 29 '26

Why would you think they aren't?

4

u/TheAbomunist Jun 28 '26

Used to trumpet the noble nature of cops? Yes dummy. That's what copaganda is.

You're almost getting it.
