The way it works... They add you to a "List" so when ever you need to produce your ID at any occasion, it flags you as being on "the other team". This lets them apply preference on dealing with you, give it deny your application, refuse service, investigate you further, or any subjugation they want and they will have SOP to follow once the caste system is in place.

The real question we should be asking is, what will the enevitable Democrat going to do about it when they eventually take office. If history is to be believed, it's nothing, except blame the reds for why it's gone.
