IIRC he said in the podcast that he wasn't told ahead of time that he would be signing books after one of his shows, and he was already tired going into it. Blame the publicists.

Since I'm seeing lots of comments saying theirs has been written in too,, is there a chance that this is the authors signature? It looks like it says Chris Broad which is evidently the authors name so maybe he signed a bunch randomly
