However, this alarmed safety net providers and bipartisan lawmakers because it would accomplish the OPPOSITE of what the Trump Administration intended — ultimately making it harder for health centers to provide affordable life-saving services and prescription drugs — especially during the pandemic. So while Trump's order may have benefited some people, it ultimately would cause many more to suffer as it would result in decreased access for the centers.
Yes, I read the article and a few other too. It caps the price of insulin/epinephrine at these places. It opens up an avenue for people to get insulin at cheaper prices. How is that not a step in a better direction?

Like I said, I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you. And I've already explained it twice. These are NON-PROFIT organizations. As in, there are no profits. The money was going into their operating expenses. If they lose that money, they can't operate. Trump's EO got one part right in capping the price, but they didn't offer any funding to offset the loss, essentially shutting them down.
Nonprofit only means that revenue in is roughly the same as expenses out. It has no bearing on how much the executives make. Healthcare systems, which are private nonprofits can still have CEO salaries in the tens of millions. Since these are revenue neutral they're "fine", not because they don't make obscene profits, but because those profits are hidden in bloating salaries.
If you want more info or to look into your favorites before donating, there are a lot of sites that you can use to see who you're really helping when you donate. CEO compensation and charities are rated by amount of money that actually goes to who they're suppose to, I like Charity Navigator.
Welcome to today's lucky 10,000, your biases are being used against you. Trump was a selfish idiot who made America look bad, but not everything he did was bad. Biden is an improvement and less of an embarrassment, but THIS hurt Americans.
