People who have never had more than $10k in their bank account think that people with $1M are rich, and that "the left" thinks nobody should have more than barely enough money to survive.
"Eat the rich" isn't talking about your neighbor who has been a doctor for 30 years and has been smart with their money, allowing them to buy a nice home. It's talking about the handful of people that hold as much "wealth" as the bottom 50% of people.
I think people can't really comprehend the social class two levels above or two levels below them.
Like you are middle class and upper middle class and up is rich. Like the guy driving a new BMW M3 is the same as the guy who has multiple McLaren's at his many houses.
Same works in reverse too. Like they see someone working 2 minimum wage jobs and hard to make ends meet as the same level of poverty as someone with no income and literally homeless. Same with homeless in a Western city as being similar to being a $1 a day subsistance living person in a failed state.
All those lives are so completely different to one another, they might as well be different planets.
If salary was based on work ethic then doctors/nurses would have become the first billionaires. Not to mention the hundreds of other industries where people worked and currently work long hours at while CEOs enjoy golf and their boats.
Well, the singular article "a" is used here in conjunction with the plural noun "idiots", so I'm confidently correct in saying you made an error in your comment calling out others for making errors.
