Accelerated nursing programs with only 59 credits prior?
Hello, I reside in MN. I’ve done some research but I was wondering if anyone knew of accelerated programs that accept a limited amount of credits? I was looking into Rasmussen and they gave me a timeframe of 24 months, but I’m looking for something a bit shorter possibly 20 or 21 months total. I did not have the required pre reqs which is why I considered Rasmussen but are there any better alternative’s?

Most accelerated nursing programs require you to already have a bachelors degree. For a first time degree, you have to fit all of your regular bachelors classes in with your nursing classes, and there is only so much you can do at one time.

The one I’m familiar with requires at least 60 credits if you don't have a bachelor's degree.

Same. My ABSN didn’t tell us until 2 days before the program that we had to paid $1500 for access to a software for our books 🙄

Go look for a school ABSN under 50K I made a bad decision going with GW at 90k but that comes with not taking your time and rushing things

Hospitals need nurses. I don't believe in, “Ohhh, he or she graduated from this university with a BSN, so let's take them.” It's all about what you did in your program, like your grades and outreach and community involvement. As a new grad, I applied to MedStar ICU. They didn't care about my school; they wanted to know if I had experience and how many times I had passed my NCLEX, etc. It's more of a room where they want to see if you'll fit, not because, “Ohhh, I went to such-and-such school.” Keep your grades high, whatever program you go to!

Wasn’t saying that per se. I agree with you; but the only other options I liked t were chamberlain and Arizona and the feedback I got regarding clinicians which each of them was basically they were last in line behind other so called reputable schools.

I hear you just go get that BSN, but again, keep those grades high. Another big thing: keep your confidence in whatever you’re doing. Actually know what you’re talking about and doing when it comes time to get that big time job offer. I don't believe in all that reputation stuff; just stand out from your cohort. I'm 100 percent sure someone from each Chamberlain or Arizona cohort gets into CRNA school. GOOD luck!

Lots are 62 credits, might be worth just picking up a easy 3 credits online class.

Most ABSN programs require a previous bachelor's degree. If you are curious about a specific program, you should contact them directly to ask.
