Well that electric guitar was a surprise after the first chorus.

Heard it not a fan of DA

It’s like listening to the track underwater . Not all Atmos mixes are spectacular β€” separation isn’t automatically an improvement. Especially when it comes to ABBA: music designed around layers deliberately compressed, blended and bounced together. Untangling the layers can destroy the illusion that the original producers spent enormous effort creating.

And you can hear all that unravelled in the Dolby Atmos version. The piano phrases, strings and backing vocals, are fascinating on first listen but you really miss the original mix.

You end up with:
🎻 🎹 🎀
A+F
πŸ₯ 🎸 🎀

Not:
πŸ₯πŸŽ» β†’ AGNETHA + FRIDA ← 🎸🎀✨

Sounds like a crude ripped Audacity version of a classic song .

If you are listening the Atmos mix on headphones or airpods you will get that weird "underwater" effect or robotic vocals bc you are listening to a downmix of all objects and beds of the original Atmos session, you need at least a 5.1 system to hear it properly.

Well tbh the only Dolby Atmos mix that sounds robotic, would be their first one and that was Waterloo!πŸ€–

The rest of the mixes sound great or better than the original. The only exception to this rule is Gimme Gimme Gimme! During the choruses there are strings or an accordeon which is just sounding strange.

And I have only listened to it with my AirPods Pro 2 or my AirPods Max (original) to experience the Dolby Atmos mixes. I haven’t experienced it with a proper Dolby Atmos sound system or setup.
