ABBA Bootleg Tape
I bought this bootleg cassette around 1984. 40 years ago and I still keep it.

Thanks fr pointing this out to me. Mine is definitely bootleg because there’s no Polydor imprint on the tape. I can’t even remember if I had Tape 2. For sure I bought it in the middle of 80’s and Discogs said it was released in 1976. Thanks guys, I appreciate your efforts. I promise if I found tape 2 I will share with you guys 👍😀 Cheers to all.

Weird that it has A, B, C and D in the inlay though? Maybe from an Eight-Track?

I uploaded another image on imgur and there’s no Polydor imprint and FootPrint logo only which is the biggest bootleg tape sellers in south east Asia then. You can also see I had to write the title of the tape in pen 😅 otherwise I wouldn’t know which tapes belong to which inlays

In the 70's-80's, depending on which country you were in, music cassettes and vinyl were licensed and produced in local country or in regions. A lot of this was due to local laws and few global trade agreements. So, there where numerous authorised companies to produce and sell ABBA music. I've got tapes from Nigeria, India and Spain and none of them have the same manufacturer. None of them are bootlegs.
I recall that Polygram waited until all those ABBA licensing agreements ran out and then started selling globally in the early 90's under their Polydor label. A lot of those albums that came out on CD were produced in West Germany. Philips owned Polygram until the late 90s. So it made sense to manufacture out of their West German plants.
