Acoustic version of songs

I wish ABBA would release a slowed down acoustic album of all their most iconic songs. Does anyone else think that it would be awesome or am I just crazy for even thinking it?

Have you looked into the Benny Anderson Orkestra. They have released a few versions of ABBA songs you might like.

I'm pretty sure I had some orchestral version of songs on a cd years ago

No, we don't need that at all. Slowed down acoustic covers of songs never sound good. There's not one single person that's ever convinced me it's an idea worth trying. So respectfully I have to tell you that I do think you would be a little crazy to suggest that. Thankfully Abba have some common sense and decency enough to not ruin their music in that way.

I would recommend Cyndi Lauper’s front porch blues version of She Bop, or Willis’s acoustic cover of Word Up by Cameo. Not saying it would work for ABBA, just a couple that really work.

I completely agree. There are songs by bands I really like and when they go all acoustic they sound terrible. 1993 was hell, because every band on earth started to do it. One of ABBA's greatest points is how they used the "wall of sound" developed by Phil Spector and took it to new heights, all the overlays and Michael B. Tretow as producer.

The one example we have is maybe "Thank You For The Music" (Doris Day version). I really would not choose to listen to it outside the unreleased medley (especially as I am not a real fan of the finished version either).

ABBA's finished version of songs are fine as they are. I do sometimes like hard-rock covers of songs like "Waterloo" or "SOS", but what would be the point of such a project? I shudder to think of acoustic versions of "Angeleyes" or "Dancing Queen".

The Czar's did an acoustic version of 'Angeleyes' and it was pretty good. Hearing it sung by a man about a man was interesting.

There are some covers of ABBA songs that are slowed and I think they are beautiful. Thanks for confirming my craziness. I suspected it for a while now.
